So nice to see Joe in action and the ballcontroll. In Europe Panagotis is a little bit like Joe.

the word has changed over the years. Now it's cho lei but 30-40 years ago it was more just CHO or JOY like robbieblack says ....in Canada some used to say "Oooo Sah"

I think 2016 was the first year when they officially used 40+ balls. And the first 40+ balls were really awful..
@NKUIUC6 ай бұрын
@@SVasil4ak It started in late 2014 (other kinds of plastic, not ABS). The last tournament using celluloid balls was 2014 Asian Games. ITTF started to use ABS plastic balls in early 2017.
@SVasil4ak6 ай бұрын
@@NKUIUC Ok, thanks for the clarification. But in Rio they also used the 40+ and there where players complaining about them.. And even in this match you can hear and also see some shots (like counters) that do not make it on the table.. And that's mostly because of the balls.
@NKUIUC6 ай бұрын
@@SVasil4ak You’re right. Not only ABS, but all plastic balls since 2014 are called 40+. They are generally bigger than 40 celluloid balls. One difference is that the standard deviation of the diameter is smaller for ABS balls when manufactured.

he a defensive player. His wall basically wears down opponents and they eventually make mistakes somewhere. Granted, it a boring playing style but it fun for those who take up that style. It gratifying seeing your opponents struggles when their smashes keep getting returned. .
