I'm from Canada as well. Love your videos, you are the only one of all the candle videos I've watched that explains everything and gives all info Including wick size. Thank you
@joolieshome8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much 😊 It's so nice to see my content is reaching fellow Canadians! 🇨🇦 I’m glad you find the details useful. Wick size is an important part of the process so I like to suggest a starting point based on my testing and research, but it’s always important to do your own testing as well, especially if you're planning to sell your candles :)

These are so beautiful! You have inspired me to make something like this 😍😍 How do you not get frosting on your embeds? I use block dye and A27 wax and get frosting 😅
@joolieshome8 күн бұрын
Thank you! They're so fun to make, you should definitely try it! I may consider making some to sell this year after more testing :) Unfortunately, I do get frosting on my embeds as well and it does bother me with certain colors, but I try to pour at a lower temperature. I use pillar freedom soy wax. I don't think I've come across A27 wax here, but maybe try pouring at a lower temp to reduce frosting, but from my experience its hard to avoid it completely, esp with soy wax.

New subscriber here 🩷 do you think the freedom pillar wax makes a good difference with mold waxes ? I tried making some wax melts with reg soy wax (green bag) but they continue to break on me
@joolieshome4 күн бұрын
Hi! Welcome and thanks for subscribing 🩷 Yes, it definitely makes a difference. The green bag, Freedom Soy Wax, is a container wax, so it's softer and designed for use in containers like jars and tins. The pillar wax, is firmer which helps it hold its shape better. It's also formulated for wax melts and tarts so I'd recommend giving it a try!

What are the white spots happen in the side walls of transparent jar candles?
@joolieshome8 күн бұрын
I think you're describing wet spots. When the candle wax cools, it can shrinks slightly or if there’s uneven cooling, it can create gaps between the wax and the jar. It doesn't affect how the candle burns and from my experience, it's hard to completely avoid it from happening. Hope that helps!

Why does dips happen in candle after wax cools down?
@joolieshome8 күн бұрын
this is also something that happens often with candle making. The wax cools and hardens from the outside in. If the wax cools too quickly in certain areas, it can create a dip in the center. You can poke holes and melt the top layer to fill any sink holes :)
