that kalimba demonstration is possibly the singlemost musical use of a frequency shifter ever! so good.

Thanks! It was one of those genuine happy accidents where I randomly dialled in to a frequency that worked perfectly. Love it when that happens!

@@TomChurchillBTW, what was the reverb for this?
@TomChurchill7 сағат бұрын
@@NicleTit’s just the built-in reverb in Monsoon (Clouds)

I've had the Collide for a while and this is the first video that helped me understand it!

Great video. Your explanation of the basics is good, your use of the various bits showing how those things fit together in a musical context is really what shines.

I've watched a few videos on Collide 4, and this is the only one that I though didn't sound like garbage.

Hainbach and you are some of the best YT channelmakers ever and the reason why I think yt premium is worth the money, and I do love Joranalogue stuff but that Collide 4 left me completely clueless with a big question mark in my face. Test equipment???? I think I get the point now, that is a great video on a very complicated module and that time was well spent. Cool sound and I have a bad case of GAS right now but, looking at the price tag, fortunately it is currently sold out at Schneidersladen😁

Can not wait to get one of these. Would love a couple of them. Awesome module and so well thought out.

Very clear explanation in the beginning, and a really nice demo. And who cares that in a lock-in amplifier it's originally all about the Phase and Magnitude? They just rock, and that's what's important here!

Love those bassdrums! If used very deliberately, freq shifting can be a great effect for backing vocals, too. Used it quite a lot in the past years at my place. Ponk Floyd did this on some songs on DSOTM, originally, as Alan Parsons told in interviews. A custom built device, called Frequency Translator, built by Keith Atkins at Abbey Road.
