Don't be embarrassed...I'm from the UK and I love Canadians and I love Jordan Klepper's comedy and what he's been doing lately with the Trump crowd in the states...BUT...this is the first time I've disagreed with his opinion here. What your peaceful protesters are doing there in Ottawa is completely different from the whole Trump phenomenon. They are legitimately standing up for their rights as Canadians and their right to protest. The Trump crowd were trying to usurp a democratic process...your protesters are simply standing up for their rights and it's your GOVERNMENT who are acting undemocratically by trying to shut them down. If a government won't listen to a large swathe of it's people then they have every right to travel to and occupy their capital to express their discontent. Yes, it's downright inconvenient for some people, but any meaningful protest causes disruption, that's just the way it is and is a price that we all pay for democracy and freedom of speech. I've been keeping a close eye on what's been going on there since this began and for some reason the media, and now Klepper, are looking for and focusing on ANYTHING which could portray these protesters in a bad light. There will always be the odd loon in ANY large congregation of people, but after watching hours of live on-the-ground footage of the daily goings-on of this movement I've witnessed nothing but peaceful, wholesome people who are simply exhausted at how the mandate rules are affecting their and their familie's lives and simply want a plan set out of when they will be over. That's it. I find this vilification of these people by the media and now favourite comedians of mine absolutely baffling and actually quite terrifying.

Having you business after just reopening from mandates, being shut down again is an inconvenience, well I disagree, next what we’re they protesting, To truck goods to the US. They had to be vaccinated, The US would not let unvaccinated truckers into the US, even if all mandates were lifted, the truckers could not go into the states, unvaccinated truckers could go across Canada no restrictions. What about the 90% of truckers who got their vaccine, and followed the mandates. Obeyed the law. They were stopped from making a lively hood at Three different borders, should they be punished because they are socially responsible? The people who were in charge of this convoy were not much different than the Jan 16th insurrection crew

Actually no. I went to Ottawa, all businesses were open and thriving. Ask anybody who was there. The restaurants were all full capacity making profits they hadn't seen in over 2 years. If anything was closed, it was their choice. Nobody was harmed nobody was hurt and at night time, it was SILENT. Everybody was very respectful. The only harassment was from people who didn't like the protest, yelling and screaming. But the MSM wouldn't dare show you any of that.

I appreciate the coverage as unfortunately we don't have anyone like JK in Canada to take a genuinely funny, humouristic and critical approach to issues like this but I also just feel really bad for these people. It's obvious that there are varying degrees of mental illness and lack of education involved for people being interviewed. I've also noticed this with other interviews I've heard too, this is an actual problem we need to take seriously.

Why don't you "educate" me on the need for mandates as a precursor to travel, access to public services, and employment. What I am proud of as a Canadian is that our countries vaccination rate is one of the highest in the world at 80.8% (and at a quick glance only China and South Korea were higher ((South Korea is the gold standard for how to handle a pandemic))). I'm also proud that (even though I disagree with them) people have a right to protest. This pandemic has been very hard on people. I wished the leaders on the right did a better job at stepping up and saying hard truths about the pandemic. Trump has advocated for vaccines (shocking I know) but other leaders like Loffler and Perdue in GA were downplaying the severity of the virus to protect their stock portfolio. One of the scariest parts of this pandemic has been the zero sum game of politics. Doug Ford (at least at the beginning) put that aside to work with the Federal Gov in the interest of public health. I'm tired of political brinksmanship at the cost of the truth. I'm tired of our leaders watering down their Rhetoric to save face (I hate the hand holding). I'm tired of loud idiots not listening to Doctors and experts. We're all in the same boat and need to do our best for public health, climate, and all the other issues that affect Canadians.

That is no justification over accepting authoritarianism over people's right to choice. These were peaceful protests (that people like these guys have the right to) against the vaccine mandate. The reason why so many are so called "against the science" is the fact that science, doctors and politicians have been censored and deemed misinformation for simply questioning the COVID rules that are not working in order to find a better solution, you know so we can get back to normal. Facts that are reported have been biased ,manipulated, misreported and in financial conflict of interest with pharma and government. Stop and really think about it. Facebook deems the oldest medical journal in existence as a news blog and misimformation according to their fact checker who has a conflict of interest with the pharmaceutical company's. The government is in legal contract with pharma and not aloud to speak against them. The media in canada is funded by pharma and government. And globalist Klaus Schwabb says he has Trudeau and half his cabinet under his authority currently. The people protesting simply want to live the same as the rest of people in society given the clear evidence that the mandates are having very little effect of achieving anything other than filling the pockets of big pharma.
