The price doesn't get cheaper and the salary cap covers the difference. Mahomes was the highest paid QB less than 4 years ago. The caps has gone up by 70M since and now hes making as much as cousins. It took the offense, and J. Love half a year to figure out he didn't need a true #1 WR. With a much improved defense, hopefully, i dont see this team not going to the NFCCG at a minimum. With that said its the teams that are the deepest that make it to the SB every year. I like lombos take do a yearly increase dependent on performance incentives, and hopefully, Love's agent and the Packers can do a 5-6 year deal that works for both sides.

its hard to justify someone who had one good year vs one of the easiest schedules in the nfl. Jordan love consistently struggled against bad teams. Jordan love had a 66% completion percentage when using play action. Aaron Jones facilitated that. The NFL will adapt after his first year like it does with every QB. Only problem is can Josh Jacobs make the same impact as Jones. I highly doubt it. all other passing stats for Jordan Love are mid to last in the league. Deep ball percentage is an abysmal 33%. Luckily the Packers can scheme their way out of most things but i dont think it will pan out as well in the past.

It was not his fault that GB did not move on from AR earlier and give him more snaps before this contract extension was staring them in the face. They sat him for 3 years and when they finally gave him the reigns he progressed throughout the year into an elite QB we all wanted and expected. Other contemporary QBs have a larger sample size but their production is no better than what JLove did and they are getting their payday. So this whole argument about his small sample size means he shouldn’t get a big payday now is weak. JLove and his agent have the leverage on the Packers in this. Gutey knew that this scenario was possible. Give the guy only 1 year of snaps before the last year of his contract and he rises to the occasion and now you can’t risk him hitting the open market next year. They should have closed the deal in May if they wanted to save money.

@@kevinayala2975 You wont win with a bad QB and you wont win paying a QB top of the market. The ONLY QB whos been paid top of the market that has won a super bowl in the last 25 years was Mahomes and his contract was structured to where it was heavily back loaded. But even that contract forced them to part with with the best WR in the league Hill. Mahomes is a HOF caliber QB, Dak, Love, Goff, Lawrence are not that. But go ahead and overpay, but you'll be like the cowboys year after year and out of the playoffs early if you make it at all.

After a nine win season, the Packers really need to lock him up. Ten year contract. One game over .500 and a Dallas team choked away their chances of winning. Do let that dissuade you. Huge mistake to pay him right now. Without Packers ** OFFENSIVE LINE**, **COACHING**; to a lesser extent tight ends and wide receivers, Jordan Love woulaed likely play horribly. He was THE reason Packers' lost playoff game vs 49ers. Everyone else played lights out including Packers defense. Aaron Jones made an outstanding run to get Packers out of bad field position and into great field position. Then they put it on Jordan Love to make a play, he could not. I do not care that he played on "the youngest team in the last 60 years", the Packers' offensive line was among the best in the NFL, which makes playing QB in the NFL MUCH easier. His stats are impressive, but they are an anomaly. Priority for the organization was to not look utterly foolish for letting Aaron Rodgers go. And please do not quote some stat where he did better than Aaron Rodgers in his first year as a starter. He is nowhere close to Aaron Rodgers. And if a guy like Jordan Love is considered an elite QB in today's NFL. Today's NFL ain't worth watching. If 49ers had Packers offensive line and position skill players, or Brock Purdy was Packers starting QB. They would be an offensive juggernaut. 49ers need a better offensive line over WR, and Packers need a better QB. **I never read any replies to my comments because 1.
