I always love watching your videos even if they're about sneaker models I'm not particularly interested in, I always end up learning more about sneakers and sports. Been a Dragonball fan since I was a toddler. I've grown more fond of the original story and series over time too! Recently, I've been binge-watching Monster (2009). I should have watched this animé a long time ago. Definitely recommend this mystery/psychological story if you can stand a slower and more thorough pace.

QOTD: No clue, but you go, Chris and son. I'm with you 100% that these look like kids' shoes, in general and especially in this colorway. Cool traction setup, otherwise it's a boring model and I find it hard to justify the price tag. They look like Jordan Brand took inspiration from the MB.03 and fell far short. Thanks for the review. I appreciate that you're willing to call out Nike and Jordan Brand on their b.s. What they keep doing is why my closet is getting more and more diverse in brands--there's Nike but also New Balance, Hoka, Mizuno, Asics, and Salomon. Idk why but I always wanted Trunks’ jacket when I was a kid. Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho are the goats for me. Cowboy Bebop is a great entry point because it’s relatively short and so stylish that it holds up really well. Spike is my favorite character of all time.

The aesthetics of all three iterations put me off. Maybe the Luka 4 will be the one. Hard to argue Future Trunks, but I give it to Gohan. The ability to be a present and protective father and hop right back in to achieving levels equal to Goku, is impressive.

I have a holy trinity of anime: Slam Dunk (the best basketball manga/anime of all time imo), Dragon Ball (since Kid Goku to the end of Z, Super is good but not great to me) and Saint Seiya, in that order (well, the first two are tied at the top). My favorite characters, in Dragon Ball is Piccolo Jr., in Slam Dunk is Hisashi Mitsui and in Saint Seiya is Ikki of Phoenix.

Got to go with Goku as my favorite. Dragon Ball qnd Pokemon were my introduction to all this awesomeness that is anime! People hate on Fairy Tail, but I actually thought it was really good.

Like most 35-40 year olds in the US Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon were my anime intros. Closely followed by Voltron, the movie’s Akira and Ghost in the shell and a few years later Cowboy Bebop. May sound weird but I never watched Yu yu hakusho in the 90’s, anyway I’m going down the rabbit whole… Oh oh and Fox started bringing out anime shows after their initial Marvel and Power Rangers boom like Escaflowne, super underrated and dope show.

Hate to disagree with you, I am not saying they are great shoes...but they are so much more comfortable than the 1 or 2...The Luka 1 and 2 were some of the stiffest shoes I have ever worn and I love Luka (so I am very likely to like his shoes)...I thought these were a HUGE improvement. Also, I am pretty sure the colorway looks that way b/c of the Slovenian national team (same green)

Sorry man, I watched these videos over and over again often usually by mistake LOL... But I think Chris is on to something with Jordan brand phasing out the formula 23 name... Because in the descriptions for the Jordan 38 said it used cushlon 3.0 while others called it formula 23... Either way, the three colorways I have of the 38 the cushion all feels the same LOL

Not feeling this colorway, it really does look like a kids shoe. My first anime was Ronin Warriors, but I thought it was just a dope cartoon at the time. Dragon Ball Z is the first anime I saw with the awareness of it being separate from normal cartoons.

I just got done playing in them for the first time. I'm 6'4, 210. I felt a huge upgrade from the 1 and 2. The traction was surprisingly great. The fit felt good on me, and I am flat footed. In my opinion the shoes best feature was the lateral stability and cushion, but I can see these bottoming out after a good month of regular play if you play 2-4 times a week.

@@treyxxmac Always depends. None of them I found good for outside. Too hard. One would say I like a bit more because of the cleaner looks and the traction. 2 has a bit more cushioning.

Also the React Elevation ones were super comfy ... would have loved if they go on with these in a mid cut. The Luka 1s and 2s have been solid. Traction is great but the rest is mid.

the best Anime people should check: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood(arguably the best ever created), Erased(murder mystery), The promised Neverland (horror) , JoJos bizarre adventure (action,fantasy), One punch Man(hilarious but great themes), Mob Psycho 100( great show for kids IMO, great themes about growing up) , Dr. Stone (best for kids, scientific, very educational, great themes, Great show for kids to get interested in science)

"it looks like a kids shoe" is how I feel about so many models these days. I think you're right it's the colorways, but also the cheap plastic feeling of a lot of materials just gives me "kid toy" vibes.

My introduction into anime was Pokemon on Kids WB and Digimon on FOX Kids. I HIGHLY recommend watching One Piece if you've never seen it. I was skeptical too about watching it cause it's over 1000+ episodes, but after a few episodes, you'll understand how it's one of the greatest - if not THE greatest - anime of all time.

Did he though? Od did he just switched because of the launch date and he needed to advertise 1s and 2s still to sell them out ;) before the release of the 3s. Honestly I think they could have had more time between 2 and 3. It happened so quick and there will be so many colorways and I completely agree that it looks just cheaper wich is really sad.

I know beauty is subjective.....but the Jordan Lukas Line is one of the most "Meh" line in existence. There's absolutely NOTHING distinguishing or memorable on any of the 3 models whatsoever. I mean I cannot remember how any of his shoes look without looking at the actual photo of the sneakers.

As a Mavs fan this sneaker is kind of disappointing overall. I’ll stick with the 1s, just like Luka did in our playoff run. EDIT: anime convo. I already told you about my connection with future trunks in the discord but, dragon ball (and Z) are some of my favorite all timers. Anyway, the great thing about anime is the broad spectrum of content out there. Some of my more recent favorites are Kaiju No. 8, spy x family, odd taxi, zom 100, heavenly delusion, and dungeon meshi. If anyone here needs a recommendation I can give it to them lol

Luka should follow Kyrie and sign with Anta or any other brand, because so far his signature shoes are lackluster in term of quality and design. A player of his caliber deserve something better than this. Considering he barely wore the Luka 3s in the playoffs this year, it's quite obvious he didn't even like them, which tells a lot.
