Actually, no. It's very easy to blow past someone when they're that low and that wide, even if they're more athletic than you. I would play that low a lot of the times, and I was helpless on the drive. And I have a very quick defensive slide and am usually guarding the opposing team's best player, so I don't think athleticism is the problem.
