It's an excellent discussion on gradual on gradual decline on values of western enlightening that includes wholeness of Hellenism and Hebraism a term actually pointed out by Mathew Arnold in his essay as well. Arnold was in favor of modernisation at that time of Victorian Era. In our world with increased technological advancement and disruption I think we need to strike healthy balance in form responsibilities of an individual towards his family and state and allowing him liberty to pursue his dreams and goals.
