I have an ex-girlfriend who my family said had BPD. She had the trait of throwing temper tantrums when she didn’t get her way but she wasn’t good at planning out or truly knowing what she wanted. She didn’t have the skills to know how to accomplish them either. She had daddy’s money to “solve” all of her problems. Would this put her into the category of BPD or just a whiney, underdeveloped girl?

Aren't we missing the prevalence of BPD (secondary psychopathy) because it is more atomized and therefore more socially covert as a opposed to classic (primary) psychopathy which stands out more? And isn't BPD also logically more prevalent as a halfway state between failed copied narcissism with remnants or bouts of uncomfortable empathy and full blown psychopathy with absence of empathy? Post-modern times = borderline times

@@chrisjacques5580 For better or worse, I think this is why all Western society outside of the last 60 years basically forbade any form of romantic relationship other than indissoluble, monogamous, heterosexual marriage

@@Oda__Nobunaga also true daimyo, it gave a societal framework with do's and don't to channel those negative feelings. Now that it is all but gone (Nietzsche's god is dead pointed aptly to this) the vacuum it leaves fills people with fear especially women (higher in negative feelings) so they narcissistically compensate by boasting individualistic independance to conceal just the very opposite namely (a nature given) fear of abandonnement. It's like trying to fight fire with fire. It doens't extinguish but just garantees it's persistence like a black hole. Prospects do not look good as we will see mental health problems increase exponentially maybe until some (mass hysterical) crisis causes a much needed (mass) introspection. But that might be too optimistic. Most likely several generations of healthy harmonious productive people will have been lost if we recover at all from this new normal.

Don't know, but it's because of it being on the border of psychosis. They call it emotionally unstable personality disorder now.

@nikwashburn9099 yes, in my experience those psychotic symptoms are more prevalent when they are going through a prolonged episode of emotional distress, say a break up, death, post partum etc.

I've heard JP address clips of his lectures and didn't mention it imply having any issues with it. In fact, I think he was more less amazed by his reach. He clearly would rather his words independently help people. He talks about that in the self authoring program podcast he does with his son and daughter. Additionally, the highlighting of this specific content is extremely helpful to me as I suffer from BPD.

The temper tantrums are terrrrifying. She badly wants certain things out of life(marriage, child) but is completely incapable of doing what it takes to get it. Stop arguing, blaming stop the temper tantrums, stop the circular arguments, stop always having to win/be right and you can have what you want… nope, can’t. Insufferably stubborn pride.
