Went to an AAU game for my daughter & the opposing team had these as team shoes. Nearly every single player slipped at least once, some multiple times. I was actually worried that there was an issue with the court until I realized that our team wasn’t having the same issues. I would completely agree these are dangerous for people playing at a high level.

Agree with everything you said Zach I actually have the “life style” SE honor the gift color way of this shoe and I was taken aback by just how comfortable and lightweight this shoe is even for being a low top guard shoe. The injected phylon midsole in this shoe is extremely light airy and 1 of my favorite iterations of Nikes phylon for comfort, however as you said you will sacrifice some durability and these will crease easier and in more frequent areas and show more stress lines and bottom out quicker than the slightly denser more standard phylon such as that used in the Jordan 11s. I am really interested how Nike has tested and passed these Nub traction patterns on the LB 19s and Whynots and the only thing I can think of is the play style of both Lebron and Westbrook known for both being more straight line North-to-South freight train locomotive type athletes in which this traction has worked fine for me.. but the lateral side to side traction just isn’t there even after breaking in extensively as you said. Now funny enough my friend actually has the standard edition of these shoes and the traction is actually worse than my lifestyle pair which I’m guessing 100% has to do with the compound mine being Gum rubber is actually quite a bit more tacky and performs a bit better laterally. Needless to say don’t get these to play basketball in but if you like the aesthetics of the shoes enough they are very comfortable and worthy of consideration for a casual lifestyle shoe.

If you could, I really recommend getting your hands on the Zoom Rize 2. Even though they're from almost two years ago, the way they're built just really checks a lot of the boxes of an explosive shoe with the a beefy shank and ridiculously large zoom unit in the front. Would love to see your take on them or at the very least have you experience them.

I walked into the Nike outlet store and this shoe caught my eye. I only bought these for general purpose (walking etc). They are very comfortable to wear (I have wide feet). I generally buy NB and Asics (since they have Wide, extra wide etc), but I always find their stores relatively crowd free when compared to a Nike Outlet store, where there is always a line. So this time, I stood in the line, went into the store and walked out with the Why not 0.5.

Great review, as usual. Westbrook's shoes have pretty much maintained the same design language for the last four releases. I am however surprised at how poorly these fared, not that I was ever planning on buying them. On a different note, are you planning on reviewing the PG 6? That shoes hasn't released stateside yet, but the early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

just bought these today. I play volleyball so I appreciate the lightness of this shoes, it’s just so light. I think the shoes traction is pretty ok because it’s made out of rubber. Probably just have to swipe it after every set. Gonna update after i played on hardwood and plastic court! So after i played on the plastic court, it did not bite that great, but the shoes was playable. I believe that you need to break in the shoes to really like it. Once that happened, the bite is good and the shoes is comfortable and light for me while playing on hardwood court. I have wide feet and this shoes feel great true to size. Overall, I believe that this shoes is great after a couple uses, very light, comfortable enough. However, nothing beats the zoom freak 3 when it comes to volleyball shoes
@lollo11712 жыл бұрын
Helo man! I am a volleyball player too, it's time to put my lebron soldier 8 to rest, they helped me not to get crooked thanks to the angled shape on the sides of the sole (unbeatable). In the changes of direction the weak ankle tends to turn even if I have strengthened, with the soldiers 8 I never had a problem. I am interested in Jordans but I read that they are not that good. from your experience do you recommend the zoom freak 3? very similar the plant to my soldier 8. Thanks!

I think they are top 3 tennis shoe ever made hence Rafa still incorporates some parts of them along with Cage 3, I hope Nike revises Cage 4s to be more like Courtballistec 1.3-4.3 which were legendary!!!

I love love loved playing in the why not 0.2. great hooping shoe. I loved the wide space in the toe box. the zoom air was nice . and the grip was amazing!!!! ( I play on dusty hardwood) the sole has a bunch of circle shaped suction cups... seems like Jordan tinkered with the tread and made it worse

Hey Foot Doc Zach, I have a question would you rather recommend zoom freak 3's or the Jordan Why Not Zer0.5. I'm looking for decent basketball shoes and wanted your opinion. I mostly play indoor at Rowlett recs. I don't drive or play roughly and am more of a shooter. Also, I don't have the best handles.

Hello foot doctor Zach, my name is elden pierce and I recently just started playing basketball again and I'm coming off a Injury and I was wondering what kind of shoes I should get, I've looked at some of the videos on your channel about the LeBron 19s and the Jordan why no zero 0.5 and the Injury im coming off is ankle injury, so what would be a good supporting light shoe for me because I don't wanna a big shoe like LeBrons but I like the ankle support but the Jordan's are light but don't have thr best supporting. So what should I do.

I'm surprised you don't get more subs. Your content reveals the cons of the shoe that other content creators miss or intentionally not say. Giannis Immortality shoes have TERRIBLE durability, and yet no content creator has commented on it. Those shoes literally ripped apart after a month's worth of basketball.
@FootDoctorZach2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, still early in the life of the channel, yeah a lot of shoes now are made for short bursts not the long haul
@randomwatcher67582 жыл бұрын
@@FootDoctorZach Which is why your channel is a literal God send. I'm already past my high school playing days. So, I'm after comfort and durability. And your content shows the INS and OUTS of the shoe, which is amazing, thanks for the sacrifice. I hope the ad revenue covers the cost of the shoes. Yep, shoes nowadays are burst instead of the long haul. I always want to buy Nikes, but the low-mid tier shoes break easy. And signature shoes are too expensive. In the end, I go with Adidas since theirs offer durable shoes, at least.
