It's definitely fair to be upset that you weren't compensated for not getting what you paid for. It seems the staff on hand did what they could to try and accommodate so other issues probably come down to poor management. It's a big cop out to say you need to go back to the original POS when you're talking about point to point travel. Good on you for making the best of a less than ideal situation.

This week VN government submit a 350km/h Express train project to Parliament. If it approval, within 10 years when the 60 billion USD project finish, it will be take 5 hour from Hanoi to Saigon! This project is rejected twice by Parliament but this time hope it will be come true!

Woah that would be incredible! It also makes a lot of sense to have a bullet train in a country long and thin, you get most of the country in a single track!

You should submit a complaint or something to get some money back at least. This is false advertising. If an airline downgrade you, you would at least get fare different, and compensation on top of that.

What a waste of money. If you want western quality in Vietnam you have to pay western prices, many Vietnamese people have a lot of money and they like to spend it, but they would never take the train. You two should hook up with some Vietnamese KZbinrs its not all cheap food and drink, nobody shows that side of Vietnam.
