I came back from Phu Quoc about a month ago, and still miss it so much. although, it was so weird because all the attractions were almost like a ghost town. I went to Grand World twice, and the 2nd time was on a Saturday Night. Unexpectedly saturday night was PACKED with tourists, music, and lights because there was actually a light show at 9pm. They had performances and fireworks on the lake! It was awesome, but every other day was just empty like you experienced. I also went to VinWonders and it was almost like disneyland, but better. It was so quiet so there were no lines whatsoever. i think the time you go really makes a difference, so I loved Phu Quoc so much.

I went to Phu Quoc last year for my birthday. I was there for a week. I went to the national water puppet theater and saw the most magnificent water puppet show about the history of Vietnam. They serve a several course elegant dinner before the show and there is a time before the show that they allow you to put on traditional Vietnamese clothing and take pictures. The show is a fabulous, well produced show. The kicker... I was the only person in the entire really beautiful theater but they still served the dinner and performed the whole show as if it were a full theater. To top it off, when the show was done, the entire staff including the puppeteers and the service staff, sang the Happy Birthday song to me, and they even gave me a couple of small gifts including a handmade paper heart with my name beautifully handwritten on it! I felt like a king! Best birthday in my whole life! There was even a Cajun steak restaurant on the island, (I'm a Cajun so that was a pleasant surprise) a Russian restaurant, and a pearl farm. Also many other interesting things there. I got a free upgrade on a beautiful room because of the lack of people at that time. I rented a moto for the week and went wherever I wanted! I love Phu Quoc! ❤

Grand world Phu Quoc is owned by the Vingroup the largest company in Vietnam. They seem to have boatloads of money to piss away on massive theme parks and EV cars . These types of parks appeal to locals but they would normally go when there are holidays and during TET . Not sure how sustainable these places will be without a constant flow of tourists from all over . Sun World on the south is fun for one day to go on the cable car but it is over built and empty as well . Phu Quoc is really just for finding a nice luxury resort on the beach that you can chill for a few days and then leave . There really isn’t much else to do the town is a dump and I wouldn’t recommend going on any speed boat tours there as they can be dangerous. Those dogs are actually only found on the island they are called Phu Quoc dogs and have that ridge of fur on their backs . They are really nice dogs very docile and good natured

Phu Quoc is one of those vacation destination, like Vung Tau beach town near Saigon where it's crowded during certain seasons and holidays and completely off when it's over, you get the whole city to yourselves, especially around noon.........When there's storms everything cut off, sea and air.....most Vietnamese from the southern tip come to Phu Quoc by sea, without them Phu Quoc is quiet enough, let alone airplanes....you guys really picked the wrong time, but if you're not in a rush this is one of those trip for contemplation. Hi guys, shame that your plan didn't go as planned. But please keep in mind next time, do your homework before setting off. This time of the year is normally stormy & just towards the end of the rain season, so it's hit & miss. I agree Ong Lang beach is probably the best option for this time of the year but the hotels that have direct access to the beach might be more expensive. I would pay extra to have a bit of that luxury. I also agree that Phu Quoc is over built. The area you visited and the Sunset town in the south called Mediterranean are mainly for the local tourists who can't afford to go abroad. I would avoid those areas. I would suggest hiring a local tour guide taking you to the local authentic spots like national park or fishing villages. I'm going to Phu Quoc in December. Fingers crossed the weather will improve

I have not been to Phu Quoc, but have watched plenty of videos about overbuilt and underutilized resorts all around the island. The Grand World and the Sunset Town, the latter intended to be a copy of the Amalfi towns, are the typical areas meant for tourists. They look deserted this time of year, and I wonder how lively the areas are in the summer season. However, there are many more smaller subdivisions meant to be 2nd homes for the natives from mainland. They are left to run down, in fact many are abandoned, due to lack of buyers. Developers and real-estate investors in Vietnam are repeating the same mistakes made by their Chinese counterparts. PS. Seems to me a bit south of where you stay is the Night Market. Some recent videos show more tourists and activities even at this time of off-season.

Phi Quoc is a ghost town. Has been this way since opening. Does not make sense to open a Europe themed beach city and not have all the appropriate demand. Plus, Vietnam travel hospitality is substandard compared to its neighbors and the rest of the World. Only thing going for Vietnam is that it is so cheap until you get scammed.

@@JordanandEmily Stealing scenes abroad to build a European city in Vietnam has never been successful. People felt this was humiliating, so they spoke up for a ghost town. How should investors make a resort city, suitable for Asians and Europeans to feel comfortable there? That is key..

Vingroup has been losing more than 6 billion dollars in an electric car project to compete with Tesla. This type of loss will soon lead to bankruptcy. They don't own any scientific technology, and wanting to compete with Tesla (the best of the best) is just suicide.
@Sly2C2 ай бұрын
@@andyhuynh6237 Tesla is not a car company, it’s a technology company. Elon admitted that making car is the most difficult production in itself. And it has too many moving parts and a mountain of safety regulations, it is a loosing strategy for Company and if it’s not a legacy auto maker like ford, Toyota, m- Benz or Volkswagen.
