@@schmingusssNo worries friend, I’ll try to summarize this message concise and simple for you.🙏🏽 Every human has sinned. Therefore separating us from a perfect and just God. Jesus comes, as the only human who is perfect, and has not sinned. This is because Jesus isn’t just human, but God who became a man. God in his love for you, became a human, taking the place of you, took your hell punishment, and he instead paid the price. Here’s an analogy: If you go to court because you have speeding ticket, and let’s say you don’t have enough money to pay your speeding ticket. This is where Christ comes in, and basically says “I have enough money to bail you out.” Therefore Christ paid for the ticket, and you legally can go. Christ legally pays for your ticket to hell, makes you clean in the eyes of God, by putting your faith in Jesus. Because he is both man and God, the mediator connecting us back to the Father, once and for all. That is the understanding. But my answer alone will not satisfy your question, so read the gospels for yourself, as well as the epistles of the Apostles, and come up with a conclusion.❤️

If Jesus married he would cease to be God. Christ would never substitute his Father - the Author of Love - for a lesser love. His mission and complete focus was to unite us to his Father. Consequently, that's why we are not given into marriage in heaven. Jesus explains: "... in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven." Mt 22:30. In Christianity, the vocation of a sacramental marriage is to unite our spouses to the Father. That's why the vocation ends with "till death do us part."

Apparently many decades ago a woman who wanted to bring down the church made it her goal to get as many homosexual men as possible into the priesthood. And we know how that turned out. I haven't researched it. Maybe it's not true. But it would explain a lot.

I wouldn't have been the same if Jesus was married as he is the God who is seeking intimate relationship with each one of us - all his human creatures. To arrogate his closest human relationship to one person would be to exclude the rest of us - even though the sexual aspect confuses the discussion somewhat. The key thought is great intimacy. This is what he wants with each of us, as if we alone were the one object of his sacrifice, honour and love. We greatly underestimate the desire of God for us and how much joy we can give him - just as we greatly underestimate the centrality of how we were made for this union with him.

About the 'inversion'! So happy to hear someone else comfirm. As a new Christian I was shown while reading the gospels that the Lord does the undoing of the wrong by doing what is right every time. You also see it when someone seems to lack faith He undoes it and asks them to confirm their faith by:'do you believe?'. I was given this meaning in the following way: What was wrong took us further on the horizontal line of the cross and eventually to the end. But Lord Jesus brings everything back on the vertical line of the cross! He leads us back home to be children of the Most High again, the way is high up. The centre of the horizontal and vertical is the heart, that's where the kingdom of Heaven is.🤍🔥🕊️

The most similar Passage, showing that He had no wife, are His own words about the spiritual Family, as being the only real Family of Jesus Christ: Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 12, Verse 50: "For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother." Because Jesus was sinless. Sex outside of marriage is clearly a sin. If Jesus had sin, His sacrifice on the cross is worthless because He could not be the unblemished Lamb who gave Himself as the perfect penal substitutionary atonement for the sins of His elect. Anyone could have taken the same punishment, but only Christ was sinless. That is why He was born through the conception of the Holy Spirit because if Christ would have been born of a man's seed, He would have inherited the sin of Adam. Jesus's bride is the Church.

Since Jesus came into the world to be the Atonement for our sin (to die in our place), He wasn't at liberty to take a wife - because He would be leaving her without a protector. The mystical image of the Church as the Bride of Christ implies to me that in His second appearance it will be different, in some way beyond our capacity to truly grasp at this time.

Celibacy is a subject that protestants are not prepared to engage with. Most Catholics struggle to articulate it, and they hold it in high regard. Much less is to be expected from those who don't even see it as a good.

It breaks the story arch into non-sense if celibacy: From "in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them" to "this explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one" and "be fruitful and multiply". To "I am the way and the truth and the life", and being called to live in Christ, and 'the head of a wife is her husband, the head of every husband is Christ, and the head of Christ is God.' I don't see how one can seriously entertain the idea that Christ can be considered a call to celibacy as opposed to a redeeming way back solidified into a Godly marriage--the latter would make us right with God, not the former!

I’d say we see celibacy as a good thing, we see this in Paul himself To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do. - 1 Corinthians 7:8 And the union between Christ and the church is not sexual, so marriage in that sense of the Bible doesn’t always have to end up in the act of reproduction, but fruit being produced in Spirit by good works of charity ( love ) I think your missing the point of leadership and their roles in service of the faith, not saying marriage is a bad thing because in the eastern tradition of Catholicism we have married priest, hopefully this clears up the confusion God bless 🙏🏾

I agree with the statement of “the man being the head and the woman being the neck, where the woman controls where the man looks”. In the case of eating the fruit, Eve is deceived by the serpent to eat the fruit and because of this, Adam follows Eve (Eve being made from Adam) and eats the fruit as well. Thoughts?

Yes, it's the correct word in the original Greek meaning. Erotic love is the desire for unity, to become one with the beloved. There is of course a Sexual aspect to erotic love but it covers so much more. Why do parents kiss their children, why do children hug their parents. It's erotic, the desire to become one, to be close with the beloved both physically and mentally. We desire unity with God, hence erotic.

Marriage serves a purpose for man and woman on this side of eternity, but you won’t be married to your wife in Heaven. You’ll be in perfect union with God and Jesus, and marriage wont have any purpose. No way that’s what stops Jews from believing in Jesus, right? Why would God marry someone? The only time Paul recommends celibacy is for those who choose to devote themselves to service where marriage may be a hindrance. It's NEVER to be a requirement of the church as in the case of RC priests. That's a demonic teaching. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and enjoin abstinence ..." 1 Tomothy 4:1
@emily432107 күн бұрын
I don't think celibacy of the religious is what Paul refers to. It sounds like Paul refers to a forbidding of people getting married/forbidding of eating certain foods. But thats different from Catholics who are allowed to marry, but some are called to a specific life of celibacy and religious life. They willingly take on these vows, and some even take on vows of poverty as well like the Franciscans, but no one is forced into the priesthood.
@bbgun0617 күн бұрын
Paul also specifically says that elders (pastors/priests) may be married. In Timothy and Titus "husband of one wife" is a qualification of eldership. I don't think marriage is required, or else Paul would disqualify himself. But elders are free to marry just like every other Christian. I understand the priesthood is voluntary, but requiring celibacy of priests is wrong.

Paul also says celibacy its the most perfect way, as does Jesus, not a demonic teaching. "A man who isn’t married is concerned about the Lord’s concerns-how he can please the Lord. 33 But a married man is concerned about the world’s concerns-how he can please his wife. 34 His attention is divided." So dont quote out of place verses trying to attack celibacy and hide other verses, as if the bible contradicts itself. Marriage isnt forbidden as your verse states, its a choice to be celibate, its a choice to be a priest. Their life is consecrated to God and their attention should be on the work of Lord alone, which is why its most fitting to be celibate.
