*Fun* *Fact:* EXO debuted with the concept off super powers. All 12 of them had diffrent powers and they have been continuing on with the concept and storyline for more than 8 years now. They even included them in their solos. For an example Baekhyun's super power is light and his debut album was called City Lights (a masterpiece btw.). Kai's power is teleportation which can be seen in the mv. Also the outro had a rock that was frozen. Freezing is Xiumin's power and earth is D.O's. Both of the members were the ones that were close to finishing their military services at the time (Xiumin is back now we missed him a lot)... They also had a collab with Star Wars and released a song called Lightsaber the mv. version is pretty short but so lit...

To understand what is happening in the storyline, as well as the editing choices and concepts in Kai's "Mmmh" MV, you have to first understand EXO's concept. I'm not sure if you know this already, but everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in someway to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 8 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story. To truly understand EXO, you need to know that EXO debuted in 2012. EXO's "Mama" song and MV is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept. So, if you haven't already, you should start from the very beginning and watch BOTH of their "Mama" MVs (EXO-K and EXO-M). From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet EXO and they came to Earth with superpowers on a mission to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one if not all of them using their powers. Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. So, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. Kai's EXO superpower is teleportation, so what you see throughout his "Mmmh" MV is him teleporting. You know why I think it wasn't important to the video editor to make sure Kai was in the exact same position when his backup dancers "disappeared" ? Because they didn't disappear. Kai was the one that moved when he teleported from another time or place at that moment. So, it's plausible, that he was a fraction of a second off on purpose to show that he was the one moving as he teleported, not the dancers. With what I know about EXO's storyline, nothing is ever random, and even the most minute of details have been designed to give clues and hints within EXO's story. So, even the subtle little details that you might overlook -- such as placing Kai in that shot a fraction of a second off -- could actually be done intentionally. And, I think, at the very end scene, what you are seeing is SM connecting Kai's solo storyline to EXO's storyline. You see D.O.'s power of earth (dirt) which gives him super strength/force and Xiumin's power to control snow/ice/frost being used. (D.O. and Xiumin are members of EXO.) You also see what I think is the emergence of a pyramid, which represents Kai and his superpower -- a pyramid is Kai's symbol and when you see a pyramid within EXO's storyline it represents something to do with Kai. I also find it interesting that Xiumin and D.O. will both be returning from the military shortly and the end scene in "Mmmh" may be SM's way of connecting the events of this MV to D.O. and Xiumin's upcoming solo work as well. If you analyse all the scenes within this MV, you would find connections can be made to EXO's storyline and things to do with past EXO MVs, and probably, even, future MVs, as well as SuperM's storyline. As you also may know, Kai also is a member of SuperM, which is the industry's very first Supergroup. SuperM was created by SM in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. They debuted last year and they are designed to bring Kpop to the U.S. market. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM's most popular groups, which includes EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV. SuperM's concept is that they are "The Avengers of Kpop," and the members are supposed to be superhero-like characters who are coming together to form an Avengers-like group to help EXO defeat the evil Red Force. And, like the majority of SM's groups, all of their storylines and concepts intertwin and connect. For example, in SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, you see Kai being chased by or being aided by drones as he tried to scale a building as they try to stop the Red Force. So, I think the scene in "Mmmh," where you see him looking at the drones hovering around him, has something to do with connections between Kai's solo storyline and SuperM/EXO's MVs. Also, Kai means opening, as in a door or gateway, so as a member of EXO, Kim Jongin (Kai) was given the stage name Kai because, as the center of the group, he is supposed to be the member who connects everyone together and that is why he was given the ability to teleport. Plus, as part of EXO's storyline, it is thought that the members are traveling between dimensions and time periods throughout history in their quest to find the Tree of Life and to fix all the evil and corruption that is thought to be caused by the Red Force. So, in "Mmmh" it is thought that Kai is traveling between dimensions and across time periods in his search for the other members and the Tree of Life, etc. There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in this MV is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. Another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force, so some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai. All of the EXO members first solo songs have something to do with the fact that they are members of EXO, and their songs show them using their powers. Baekhyun's song "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV. As the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well. Even in their solo work, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline as members of EXO. :D Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order. So, we fans have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of everything any of the members of EXO/SuperM are involved in to try and piece it all together and figure out where each part fits within their larger storyline. And the story isn't just limited to their MVs, but it extends to everything EXO is involved in, including teaser videos, live performances, concert VCRs (videos played between sets in their concerts) and even a majority of their choreography. As you can see, EXO's and SM's Universe is extremely complicated and complex, and even the most expert of fans, has trouble following the storyline. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. And oftentimes, because the story is not in order, we discover that, with the introduction of a new MV or performance, everything we thought to be true has been turned on its head and we now have to rethink everything. (We only hope that someday SM will come out with a book or movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.)
