"I can't understand what people are saying." Ah, the muchly memed line. The girl was only his "little sister" in the honorific sense, she really more represents ARMY, like the girl from the Make It Right MV. She was blindfolded because he didn't want her to see all the struggle and only the good things. The animals were actually real, just shot in a different frame than RM. He posted a selfie with the one alpaca calling it Jin-ssi in honour of the ever-running joke. While there's a great deal of religious reference, it's most likely just in the theological context, as religion was the root of much of philosophy, and none of them are particularly religious. That's not to deny that they're religious references; RM's scene is obviously representative of Nuh (AS) and the Ark, but is used to convey a philosophical message and isn't religious content for the sake of religious content. Of course Jungkook is tired, he's been running for almost seven years 😂 I LIVE for all the references in this MV. Back to Mordor - Not Today references Aragorn's Speech at the Black Gates and the fire overtaking the screen is also from that MV Maze Runner wall Lord of the Flies conch Pride Rock And the way one dove turns into seven flying freely- As for the glasses, any of the middle three.

@@shookyinsin715 Yep, especially since "Map of the Soul" is a direct reference to a book by Stein of the same name summarizing the psychology of Carl Jung. The scenes all have biblical correspondence/symbolism. And the color palette of Suga's scene is Alchemical (representing the formation of the Philosopher's Stone as a model for Individuation with Black being the piece of the void/the Shadow, White being the purification/bringing the Shadow to consciousness, and Red being the formation of the Stone/the completion of individuation and the formation of the complete integrated self.)

I love how BTS members and the production team really are well cultured. The philosophical, historical, musical and literary references in their videos are no joke. This MV has not only Bible references that are not cliché at all, but also Greek mythology and philosophical elements. It's so damn gooooooood. Plus the song has incredibly meaningful lyrics. This is awesome, thanks for posting this! What struck me is, there are also 7 doves flying together at the very end. So perhaps the one dove at the beginning symbolized Jungkook and his circle of life alone, but then he is joined by his 6 brothers and they fly together.
@thetalantonx Жыл бұрын
That's beautiful! The dove being a symbol of peace from the story of Noah's Ark (RM's scene) because the dove brings back the olive branch as proof of vegetation thus the Flood being over, it's a symbol of peace with the divine. Jin showing a battlefield with yet another dead dove shows they've been battling a long time, but never gave up. Each of them through training and debut had their own private battle and journey but as they completed it they followed RM, their leader, into the promised land they opened for all of us.
