Lost a job which I had a lot of my identity in in 2014 after 20 years, my mother and grandmother dies in jan. 2014 within a week of each other. In 2015 my wife left after 20 years of marriage. 3 kids together we share 50/50 . Needless to see its been hard. I don't know what your situation is but mine has been a hard few years. 4 years ago, I did something without knowing what I was doing. I created my first educational course on Udemy. As a stupid teen. The course was REALLY bad. But I did it. Because I didn't know better. Had I known better at that time, and been more knowledgeable, I may not have created the course. Because then I would have known that I would create a bad course. So I wouldn't have done it. If I had just thought about it, I wouldn't have done it, and I would have NOTHING by now. But I did it, I did badly but I did. And now it's my profession, and I create good courses now. So, just DO what you want to do. Do badly. But do it.

Dr. Peterson, I am a big fan. After listening to your lectures and countless interviews, I believe that there is a component to satisfaction that is overlooked. Toil, good old fashioned labor. As a young man, I scrubbed pots and pans at a job that anyone could with no experience as long as they committed to working hard. It gave me the opportunity to earn respect and to respect the labor of others. It provided an excellent foundation for an aimless 15 year old boy. 30 years later, I am an administrator on an array of some of the most powerful computers in the world. In my spare time I exercise those skills that I learned so many years ago. I have what I can only describe as a not for profit catering business. I don't what I would do if I didn't have something to put my back into.

Dr. Peterson gives absolutely liberating advice in suggesting writing a bad thesis. You can do that! About 20 or more years ago, the singer songwriter Harry Chapin appeared in an intimate Soundstage performance in the PBS studios in Chicago. During the break he hung out and chatted with the audience. Someone asked, "Harry, how did you learn to write such great songs?" He answered that he wasn't sure but he knew for certain that the first step was to write 100 bad songs. My eyes opened wide at that news. I thought, "I can do that!". i am more than halfway through that assignment. (And somehow still married.) i am old now and may never complete it, but what joy I have had in trying. I never would have started if I had waited until i could write a "good" song. Go for it! And in your spare time, watch all of JP's lectures.

I've learned this in an art class, just start drawing, something will come to you, just start writing (for a research paper) even if it's cruddy, in doing so, you get the crud part out of the way as you revise and you replace it with something better, it always works. This is how I approach most things now, that I want to do. Just start. Action has to override thinking in the beginning.

This was the thinking I had when I took my first after school art class at the age of 8. I remember thinking oh God I'm the worst artist ever... but I have to be good at something. I'm pretty sure I can learn this so I'll just do it until I'm good. Flashforward some 8 years of art class later I remembered what I thought and looked at the Sargent reproduction oil painting in front of me I had just finished and thought, holy shit I did it. I bought the future authoring suite 2 years ago and haven’t started at all. I still have the log in it’s all ready to do but I haven’t for exactly the reasons he has laid out. More than anything I am scared of holding myself accountable and failing. Without a goal I am never failing. This is by far one the best clips I have seen of JPB. This video is extremely useful and letting me know that I should start and just do it badly and therefore be moving forward. After a life of full control I tried physiotherapy as an occupation and a passion. After six months I realized I don't know anything, and that I am indeed a fool, so I switched to hard manual labor in five shifts. It paid more, but lacked meaning. I've done a lot of unspeakably horrible things in my life, and despite that, I don't think I'm all that different from anyone else. Three years later I'm still a mess but I'm in a better place for sure. Part of that comes from simply living longer and part of that comes from accepting what and who I am. A couple of really great books to check out are the Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts and Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins. You can also check out their work here on KZbin.

When i hear you speak, and see your videos, I truly feel that i see the man speaking. The man behind the eyes, a truly honest, pure and competent man. This purity is the thing that speaks to me and i believe so many more then just me. Jordan is someone to look up to and represents something that i miss in others around me. Its a rare quality and something i feel society is losing more and more, espacially the younger generation. We have so many influecers, massmedia and socialmedia whom is establishing a fassade that we truly can´t relate to but often are indoctrinate to believe in, its so refreshing and nurturing to see someone who stands out and gives that trustworthy impression. I´ve had alot of trauma in my family and weak relationship to rolemodels. I hope you continue your work to inspiring others to take on responsability and to speak forthrightfully in the world. I believe its rolemodels like you that have a groundbreaking chance of changing the world for the better. It's bloody amazing and feel fortunate; was in front row for this lecture, lecture 9; these zig-zag slides came up two weeks after I had a vision of the same exact ziggy-zaggy-like spacial movement in lecture 7. And again they appear in lecture 15. Although had a bad, terrible, month and a half concluding 2018, and felt like the entire world of light went black. No star to aim toward, not sure if I went blind or if the star disappeared. I appreciate that Dr Peterson has described that in real life, manifestations of "dragons" can, and sometimes do destroy would-be heroes who set out to slay them. Perhaps another element of this Self-Authoring suite, could be a metaphorical burn ward for gathering those who have been scorched by dragons.

We've talked about AI and its implications. You were truely nice. A very complexe well-intentioned aura. I want to tell you that what Martin Weil did was a shame, and not to slow down on trying to reach the french cities. He was condemned by most people at least on youtube. There is here a deeply rooted toxic mindset, but people can't figure out its causes. I think that your discourse on the truth can be their remedy. Lies have became an art here. Wish you well.

Its weird cause this is the kind of logic i use to understand words and how they can be used in vocabulary. Try to explore all the applications and interpretations of a word that interests you. Its like finding out the uses of a tool
