Jordan, your videos are the best. The way you break down the *why* of techniques is both unique and incredibly helpful. During my rolls, I often think to myself "Am I in a position where I have them above my hips to sweep?" and "Will this grip help me accomplish what I want to do?" Many thanks from a white belt. You're helping me work my way to blue a lot faster.

Jordan, thank you for being so detailed throughout your videos. Started BJJ this February and I was fortunate to get my second strip as a white belt this Monday. I tend to be a great technical learner your channel is one I recommend to others and can give credit to when I am asked what helps me on the mats. Thought this is an older video, it still helps out tremendously (Catching up to more current videos).

@willbrierley68502 жыл бұрын
Yes boss. The breakdown is so good. For beginners, the bits where you slow down the explanation of the technical aspects to make a broader point about universal principles (i.e. loading hips for sweep) is learning gold

Glad you think so! Happy to help beginners as much as I can 🙌
@401_Unauthorized2 жыл бұрын
The little things you point are huge for a 35 year old white belt. Its just things we arent taught yet. what i got from this: hips above theirs, dont muscle across the body but up and then over, holding the inner thigh for turtle and then replacing with your heel, elbows to the ground and create space.....of course its circumstantial but if applied during those circumstances, it works. Great info and love that post match break down. it made it hit home a little more than the commentary over the roll because it was focused. Thank you!

These post match break downs are hands down the best tutorial style, I think you’ve cracked it. Really helps like interlacing the fundamentals into the technical aspects of the move I.e loading the hips on the sweep. Rolling tonight and 100% sure this will improve my game

I’ve done the Kesa Gatame bridge and roll escape for years with much success and literally just learned something new about it. The way you continue to move your hips underneath them after you bridge just makes too much sense. I’ve always just did the shoulder roll after the initial bridge which used more strength. The success rate wasn’t as high on bigger guys, but that detail of loading the hips underneath will no doubt increase it. Thank you!
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Glad you took a way detail. Should make your escapes even better!

Im new to this channel and I have to say this is an awesome channel. You commentate while rolling and I think thats the best way to teach grappling. Too many channels are on this technique kick and people can take techniques out of context. When you roll you show the proper way of the techniques with proper context . Great job and great idea this most definitely something different.

Oh Man! This is exactly what I was looking for!! I was a newly wed and started taking bjj classes over 15 years ago. Was in classes for a few months and went to a seminar, but it wasn’t long after that I had to quit, (broke, new wife, new job etc. a lot was happening). Anyway, I continued educations through online club, books, and dvds… so I learned techniques but practically never rolled. This explains and breaks down what’s going on during rolling, cause what good are techniques if you don’t know WHEN or HOW to apply them on the fly and under pressure. So point is… I subscribed!!

Most KZbin instructors will only give you a small sample in a video , hoping that you'll buy their course afterward. Either that , or they'll show 1 technique in each video with no long term structure and very few concepts. These narrated videos feel like a masters course. I think that they are the future of online teaching and you will surpass many of the popular channels with your own popularity. Perhaps you'll be the first bjj channel to 1 million subscribers.
