I'd love to see this ship navigate this channel with a full cargo. Personally, I think that a fully loaded tanker is the most beautiful thing to see on the sea.

For Coruña the sea state is actually relatively calm with the average Atlantic swell. It is prone to some really rough weather and sea conditions.

is true, know well the place. Mar de la muerte. (muerte=death). This is a normal sea there. One of the most treacherous oceans in the world. Wonderful food that place, and terrible seas. Mariners there are not joking, they play wiith death almost daily. \

the vessel ballast was empty after discharging its crude oil . The sea was swelling
@Bruce-19567 жыл бұрын
I would expect the vessel cargo has been partly replaced by seawater ballast. Seawater is less dense than crude therefor less heavy. Ballast is not cargo !!
@CharlesReece-nr2wr5 жыл бұрын
I don't know the depth, but with that much resistance and steering accuracy needed; too much ballast would be a disaster if you had to do some radical maneuvering. That looks like pretty good sailoring to me!! And answer the darn phone!
@ronnieince45685 жыл бұрын
Charles Reece they will take on ballast seawater once they have cleared the port and are into deep water -an empty ship is stiff in heavy seas.

It's rare to see a 150,000t tanker being lifted by the swell so much so that's a big sea running but my guess is it was after a storm.

Though It may look Interesting . Seeing the Prop well Hight above the current Water Line on this Ship, Isn't Always a good thing. It causes an Awful lot of Vibration throughout the Vessel + Greater Induced Stress On most if not All components Associated With Propulsion. though Say! on & For Strict conditions, (Theoretically not quoted) Permited on Medium to Low Tide Departures- Harbour Master's n Captain's could Ride High a vessel During departures, Creating a Positive Buffer Depth between Hulls and Sea Floor is always a good thing, Ballast can then (Theoretically not quoted) be Verry verry Slowly Orgmented during Transit for a more Stable Operation. Vessels can also Depart with assigned Ballast even when All cargo holds are Empty for a Return Transit.
