That jump was incredible. Sunshine did OVER good. The rider was very relaxed the whole time but the horse wasn’t. I know all the comments say the same thing but it’s true. Everyone was all about the Man. I mean seriously. THE MAN DIDNT DO THE JUMP! It was the horse! I hope Sunshine got praise after that breath-taking jump.

Yes, that was the horse's jump, but please stop saying that the jockey has no merit, because it is an insult to all professionals of this sport. It is like saying that a sailor cannot praise himself for having passed an adverse stretch of sea because it was merit of the ship.

You have to be superbly fit, balanced, and completely believe in your heart that the jump is doable to succeed at this level. The rider made it look easy because he is frighteningly talented. Of course the horse was spectacular and deserves multiple kudos, but this was a team effort.

Actually she was relaxed! You can see her ears to the side! Meaning she is content, that horse loves jumping! And you can see coming to the jump she wasn’t hesitant! She knew she could do it! If she didn’t want to jump it, she wouldn’t have! She is not forced, if she wanted to she could have thrown him off and refused, but she didn’t and she is loved by her rider and owners more than you think!

Julya Flyer please, enlighten me to how you would possibly know this. there is a lot of bad in the horse world, but there are also a lot of good people who truly love their horses. i’ve worked as a groom, and i’ve seen both. but there is someone in this horses lives (whether it is or isn’t the rider i don’t know) that spends hours grooming, giving treats, and helping him relax. i’ve done it for other horses, and seen other grooms do it. the horse is obviously well cared for physically, so that’s half the battle there. maybe don’t comment about something you know nothing about, especially if the comment is just meant to put a negative view on a person

liv equine id have to disagree. maybe not by the riders who ride horses like that everyday, but think about the grooms, vets, farriers, everyone behind the horses care that fall in love with the horse. i am absolutely sure there is someone giving this horse tons of praise and treats for his performance, but also just because they love the horse

the amount of trust in herself the horse HAS to have to jump shit like this is amazing. She looks like as if shes almost asking the rider "can I go now? Lets go lets go please". He had to hold the horse back otherwise it would bolt over and jump flat. Have to keep them steady before the fence to line it up properly, as you should know.. Of course on my 12.2 pony when I was 9 he could handbrake turn and jump 3ft on a diagonal at speeds of 20+mph but not all horses have such talent. 🤣 that pony also did the wall of death and taught quite a few pony club riders what a real pony is like. 😎

I see a lot of comments telling the rider what he’s done wrong. I have attempted a 5’11 jump and so I wanted to clearify something’s. I had to hold my horses head so high. It wasn’t cruel, it wasn’t mean, I was simply keeping myself safe. My horse could have bolted at any moment. Specifically because of how high this jump is. And no, it’s not mean that this man praised himself more than his horse. That’s completely normal. If I jumped a 6’11, I would have been so proud of myself. Probably, yes, more than how proud I would be of my horse. Nobody can prove me wrong. Humans are made to feel special after accomplishing something few can do. Also, please educate yourself. Horses foam, that means they are comfortable in the position they have been placed in. And the bit automatically creates a foam build up, which isn’t bad. It keeps the mouth cool and the horse will not overheat. Lastly, the horse was simply pulling because, yea, the rider was holding the reins very short. This was to have control, the horse wanted its head to see the jump and if you look closely, the rider lengthened his reins 2 stoppers before the jump, then shortened them once more before launching. This gave the horse enough time to see the jump and know what she was up for. SO STOP COMPLAINING THAT THE RIDER DID STUFF WRONG!!!

@@aoifemaeflanagan1982 I was about to say that. 🤣 but yes, if you just let them go they'll jump flat and knock the fence down, have to do the same with our 30 year old mare. She doesn't jump or canter much these days (not under saddle anyway) but if I take her in the woods or a field on a hack as she's ex cross country I have to hold her back otherwise she would just bolt off, as she's on loan to an older lady.. Can't have her learning to jump bolt everytime she goes in the woods, I compromise on letting her jog. If I let her go she would easily clear the fallen trees which are a good 5ft off the ground. She's 15'2. But the mare loves jumping, just point her to it, she locks on like the horse in the video and never runs out.

This was a great ride, though I have only two issues I’m really seeing here. The rider should of praised the horse more after the jump, that jump was massive! He did the work lifting the man up over it give that horse some more love! But the second problem I’m seeing is yes the bit is extremely painful and he yanked on the mouth too much, again I see the reasoning as he wanted to control and keep his horse contained, but still the horse was uncomfortable and didn’t seem very relaxed. But again this comment is gonna get hate but the truth is; Bits cause pain just like whips do, get over it and face the facts. If you ride with a bit doesn’t mean you’re abusive or hate your horse, just it’s painful and discomforting. Me and my horse have such a better ride bit less he’s a thoroughbred and he’s wild at times but even bit less I can keep him contained easily without any harm done.

There's always one. Look there are loads and I mean loads of bits that have no place going anyweher near a horse. Me and my yard use snaffles or bitless on all the horses. But at the end of the day mild bits in good hands fo not hurt horses. They are a tool, and if used incorrectly can definitely hurt a horse, this video for example, the horse was clearly in discomfort. However so can bitless bridles. At the end of the day it is much more about using minimum force with the most gentle bit/bitless you can use. And as far as bitless and bits go people should pick what is best for their horse because they are all individuals. I ride my horse in both, she jumps better bitless but can't bear having all that pressure on her face doing dressage so she has a plastic French link snaffle. I don't think anyone should be telling others what to use unless it's clearly abusive (like this ride or where you see horses finish a round bleeding) because frankly it's no one's business.

You ride western by looks of it. What would you really know about showjumping? Its a classical ridden sport. Edit: I could also point out i dont like the Western ridden parts where you slide stop your horse from speed and make it spin fast in circles, that could damage the horses legs, yet you do it anyway.
@adeleadvenier
@adeleadvenier 3 жыл бұрын
@@Kat-mu8wq I used to ride english, but switched to western as i was more fond of the way rider and horse communicate, so i do know about showjumping, dressage, cross country and sorts. The comment I made a year ago still reflects my beliefs after watching the video, but if i were to write it again, i would definitely not put it into words as i did :). But you can see how unnatural and uncomfortable the horse looks as the rider pulls on its reins, and thus his mouth. I thank you for pointing out sliding stops and spins. As I do agree with you that sliding stops aren't the best practices of western riding, spins on the contrary are totally fine when the rider asks the horse to do it the right way (i'm not specialised in reining so i couldn't tell you specifically how it's done).

I don't understand the negative comments. Very smart rider, awesome horse, fantastic team the two, horse and rider trust each other, he prepared himself and the horse in a very smart and professional way, the horse is super cool and satisfied after the jump. There is an inner connection between horse and rider that most people don't see. There are horses that don't need much physical praise, they are totally happy when the rider is happy and they know exactly they've done an extraordinary job and are proud of themselves. Have you guys talked to the rider? Such a jump is not possible without a deep inner connection. Such a connection is invisible for those who have never felt it. This was a high level performance of a dream team that diserves respect. I wonder how you would behave after such an adrenaline kick. And for those who do not know:you cannot force a horse to do this, they are born for this, you need the horse's will and consentment.

Bevor es los ging der Drang zu äppeln ist ebenfalls ein klares Zeichen von negativ Stress. Wo du da ein gerne Springen von diesem Pferd siehst, frag ich mich. if you’re only ten you have no business on social media platforms😂 the video cuts off, you don’t know if he patted the horse when he got him down to a walk or not. but you should not immediately after a jump start praising and such (except with your voice) as it can easily unbalance the horse and make jumping uncomfortable. that’s like someone holding your hand through parkour and all of a sudden dropping your hand. you are obviously going to be a little shocked. if he has a contact all the way to and over the fence, and upon landing nothing but a hand patting his neck, it’s more likely to turn the horse off jumping than make him think he’s done a good job

All the people on here. Look get a horse and jump 6ft 11 on a loose reign. And as far as not fussing the horse much afterwards perhaps the rider was high off adrenaline from basically flying a horse. If you can do both these things then hats off to you. The horse must have been in pain? Really? What so much so he clears nearly 7ft without looking like he's trying. I don't think it works that way probably got a hard mouth because horses in pain that they can't stand aren't really happy to do this. Chillout with the empathy. Life is painful as hell for all life in some way or another. Pain is unavoidable they kick and bite each other in herds and inflict pain on each other as a means to gain herd position pain is part of a horses life to a degree by thier nature. So please.... You do not have to feel everything you see. Enjoy an amazing feat by both horse and rider. Absolutely spectacular in my view.

@Kat-mu8wq 3 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielle9577 thats why the wall is 1 jump for finding a champion/winner. They don't have fences that high during show jumping courses. The horses should also have boots or bandages on to protect the legs. The wall is also easily knocked apart if the horse isn't able to clear it, no real injury is done. Jumping horses usually retire at 15-16 and get used for hacking until their end. Our mare is ex cross country, she's 15.2 but could easily clear a ft fallen tree if you let her, she's 30 now and still in ridden work, just not much jumping anymore. The odd 2ft fence maybe.

The rider was kind and soft. Counter cantered to the first for a reason, looks like a snaffle bit. If you have ever ridden a hot horse, you need some control with the running martingale. So many stupid people comment in areas where they are not warranted. Find some other BS to screw up. This is NOT one of them.

It would be great if he wouldn’t literally rip the horses face off, the horses mouth is foaming a lot.

A horse that can jump 200 cm + is very strong and will do whatever he likes if your not strictly guiding him, you've probably only ridden cold blooded horses that take 10 kicks to walk
