I have wood splitter with Kohler engine on it. It's been great. Ive used it for 7 years probably. But my sawmill has 42 hp kubota Diesel engine on it. Not sure I'd get along with 19 gas on mill. That being said. Every one does different things. I don't use water on the mill. I do use Diesel drip on sticky pine.

Hi Joe, Have a LT15 at my place in Canada on an Island. Have bee kept out of there for almost three years due to Covid and now flooding. Have been watching you to learn and I thank you for such good detail on how to run the saw.

Lot's of little tips to absorb, thanks for sharing. After owning a mill just a few months, I totally get the concept of not keeping every little piece that has a nice part to it. We heat with wood, so the scraps are just pretty firewood!

lol, that is a good way to describe it. I also burn a lot of pretty firewood. Have a good one Eric.

Hi John, nice to hear from you. I have slowed down since my wife passed. I have an abundance of work to do within the house which is not my line, but it needs to be done. Have a good one.

I have measured 1 inch or any measurement I’m sawing by , when I finish my first cut I will always let my blade up one full turn , which is 2 inches, at the end of the cut. After I go up the full turn , I usually move the cut board off. Then I return back to the start of the log. Go down exactly one full turn, 2 inches, and your right back where u made the last cut. Then if I’m cutting on inch, make a half turn , or 4 big lines, and add 2 small notches , which is an 1/8 for the kerf. One inch exactly. If I’m leaving the lumber on the Kant , I just go 2 full turns or three or four, whatever it takes to clear the top, and then go down the same amount to get back to where I started. It’s easy for me. I’ve done it like that so long it’s what I’m used to and easy for me no matter what dimension I’m sawing. Always enjoy you vids Mr Joe. Much Respect to You. AC

That all sounds good and I have not problem with what you wrote. For me sometimes if I get a cup in the board I cannot get it planed right to 3/4" but most of them are good. So if the cant looks a little suspicious to me I may go the full 1/8 above the 1 or 2 inches. It can be a tough call but watching can help. Have a good day. Thanks.

Your right about the prices Joe! But a glass of ice water and a bunch of cherries on a hot day is great!

Yes, that is why I bought them.

If you saw a lot of pine the water keeps the gum off of the blade.

Nothing wrong with Kohler engines, nothing wrong with Tecumseh engines. Take care of them and they will last
