Jose Carioca Animatronic Malfunction On Gran Fiesta Tour Epcot 7/21/2020

Taken by me on a trip to WDW, on 7/21/2020 the Jose Animatronic apparently had a severe malfunction where the figure completely fell over. Disney’s fix was to pile assorted props and a blanket over the animatronic figure to hide it from guest’s view essentially burying a dead Jose Carioca. The video clip at the end was taken on the same day before the incident and shows how Jose’s figure is normally placed. Interestingly his figure was moving abnormally fast which is likely what caused his fall. Thank you all for watching!

Hahaha!! I don’t think Disney really put much thought into covering him up like that since it looks like an altar for a dead José. They aught to create a B mode for this scene since it appears the animatronics have malfunctioned in the past

This was a surprise to see from Disney. Usually they’d close the attraction to repair the animatronic or set up a B mode to keep the ride’s continuity. Nope they just threw a blanket over Jose and piled props over him.

Well the balloon incident was purposely done by that guest to get attention, that incident’s too perfect to be legit. But Disney has changed after the closure they’re different in that they aren’t as friendly anymore and are clueless in organization especially mobile ordering and guest information

@@richardstrainsandmore I would assume the kid simply did not know right-of-way to unintentionally get the media's attention. It infuriates me that the employees aren't friendly anymore and are clueless to where the parks get nothing but angry guests. You'd think that with all the time Disney had to prepare for all this considering that Disney opened much later than Universal did. This adds to the laziness that we've been seeing on the Disneyland Railroad, including Holiday 2 being untouched, the missing boiler strap on the C.K. Holliday, and the delayed maintenance on the E.P. Ripley.

It was obvious that Disney copied Universal’s safety measures but failed to get it right. You could easily tell where they missfired like mobile ordering or queue organization. Pop Century’s mobile ordering was the worst but that story would take forever to write. I’m not that big of a Universal Studios fan but going there was an eye opener for implementing covid measures while still preserving the fun. Disney needs a lot of help if they wanna bring back the magic

Well that's what happened in FNAF, old animatronics that were fixed up but went crazy. But in all seriousness yeah those are pretty old pieces of machinery. Who knows maybe they'll still be around when the old postwar lionel stuff is still running in another 20 years or so

Being all American made they would probably survive the apocalypse. Although there’s several older animatronics that would fit right in FNaF as stiff moving creepy robots. Wait that gives me an idea, they should make a FNaF style ride where animatronics try to attack you.

First off, I hope you’re having a great time and are enjoying the low crowds/short wait times. And secondly, great capture! I’m a sucker for any Disney parks AA malfunction/failure. And I figured that I’d ask seeing how you were at EPCOT yesterday, but did you happen to notice if the garden railway trains at the Germany pavilion were running? Just curious because they usually draw a large crowd of people, so I didn’t know if they’re not running them right now in hopes of preventing that from happening.

I walked by the German pavilion 3 times and each time the trains weren’t operating unfortunately. Not sure why. So far the trip has been fantastic attraction wise but the cast members here have been rude! They’re very strict on covid guidelines and get angry if you enter the wrong way or pull your mask off for just a second. It totally ruins the Disney Magic. Currently I’m at Universal and it’s a world of a difference the cast members here are so nice and understanding and the parks are much busier. I wouldn’t be surprised if Walt Disney World closes again they’re so empty they aren’t making any profit and guests are leaving upset over bad customer service

Yeah it was pretty bad. I’ve got loads of bad cast member experiences from this trip enough to never want to go back again. Universal was like night and day compared to Disney the employees were so nice! And all the Harry Potter lands were done much better than Galaxy’s Edge, they make Galaxy’s Edge look like a joke!

There’s no comparison Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade have more to do and see than Galaxy’s Edge. I just visited GE in Hollywood Studios and it’s dead it’s quiet with nothing to do but walk around in the hot sun. I only spent 10 minutes there before I left from nearly passing out. Disney really needs to fix GE, heck they already copied it from the Harry Potter lands they shoulda learned from that success

RichardsTrainsAndMore and Foolish Mortal a MiceChatter thinks Galaxy’s Edge should’ve been built in a third gate instead of squeezing it in Disneyland so it can expand like Harry Potter. It seems that Universal is exceeding expectations while Disney seems to be disappointing people to where Disney is just “copying” from Universal to keep up with the competition.
