No white person mistakes Amber for a white woman. She hasn’t been able to prosper outside of black culture. Or detach from it and be A list woman that every white man and anybody else wants. Or that non melanated children want to be. The only reason she’s relevant is because of her attaching herself to black men that she feels are less than her.

@NoName-mc7wd Жыл бұрын
No need for a class on a societal construct that was manufactured by racists. "Black" is a byword the Bible prophesied African tribal people would BE REDUCED to because of our disobedience and disloyalty to the Most High. Humans are from TRIBES, not "races". This being said and using today's racial classifications, race is what it is, but there is no reason to mandatorily "teach" a social construct. You're not white, you're black!" accusation by another black person. Accusing you of self-hatred, racism, white supremacy, wanting/wishing you were white pretty much... when it's like, NO! Wtf. Just because you acknowledge you're mixed. You go your entire life with people asking you your race and ethnicity upon meeting, it is NORMAL and NATURAL and the only CONCLUSION that you can come to, when you realize, "people cannot pinpoint my race/ethnicity. That must mean that I look ambiguous." I'm certain that unambiguous black people AND white people, East Asians, South Asians, (unambiguous is the KEY word here) do not get asked the "what are you?" question as much as mixed race people. It's like beat into your head since childhood that you are mixed from being asked by every single person you meet, strangers. I have experimented many times just saying "black" and no one ever takes that for an answer. It's always, "but what else? What else? You're not Domincan/Puerto Rican/something else?"

I wish we as the black community would honestly delineate more. I'm an African American woman and it irks my nerve when specific people want to claim their blackness when it benefits them or when they want to grift. They may both be black but they are not AA and we need to stop giving privileges and speaking opportunities to people who don't have the pedigree. It ain't the same. SN: African American is an ethnicity of African descent. Many black people in America with generations of family here are descendants of slaves. Usually a person is considered AA when you have two black parents.I know on both parents side to like my great grand parents, they were wholly black (no mixing). Its really sad because it gets really complicated the farther you go back because Slave owners gave two shits about keeping families and tribes during the auction block sale. Often they would mix different African tribes on plantations to create confusion amongst languages. I wish I can pinpoint distinctly where and who. Many of you Africans are blessed.

There are also black Latino artists who identify as black and have made music to uplift black Latinos. Some examples are Las Caras Lindas De Mi Gente Negra by Ismael Rivera, La Negra Tiene Tumbao by Celia Cruz, and Loiza by Tego Calderon.

Brazil is majority black and colorism is a real racial problem in that country. Racism runs high. Creoles are the result of whites, blacks, mixed and remixing. The original people came from West Africa as slaves on a slave ship. My cousin was married to a creole. They were called by another name before they were called creoles. by the way that's where we get Gumbo from. The slaves from west africa that were taken to the islands brought the knowledge of those foods over with them.

Great points Ti. In regards to Joseline, being Afro-Latino or Afro-American doesn't literally mean you have an Afro. Afro-Caribbean means a Caribbean person of African descent. Joseline herself has been anti-Black and disparaged Black people, especially Black woman. In the case of Amber, she always said she was multiracial. I think the problem is her benefit ing from Black spaces. Yet again, it is the same Black people putting her on a pedastal. Amber even made disparaging remarks about the unambiguous Black girls she grew up with in Philadelphia.

Joseline wishes she had the same privileges as Amber. She cannot claim "exotical-ness" on the basis of her skin and hair unlike Amber. She can only claim it by association due to being Puerto Rican and speaking Spanish. That's the only way she can claim to be superior to full black women because that's the real issue, wanting to be seen as "better" than BW by black men.
