Big Joe is probably my favourite DJ artist from the 70's/80's. Just shocking to see him like this, but I have to feel aggrieved with the health service in Jamaica generally, many of the conditions which afflict older ( and younger ) people could be alleviated by early intervention. I had to donate a sum and only hope it is used to help Big Joe get better.

Back ina dem days deh Big Joe and Dilinger use to Run the 13, The original Small Axe was owned by Two Indian Brothers DESI AND PASO at Delacree Lane, Dem time deh Freddy McGregor used to live Ina Al Campbell yard, a we mek dem Dj deh, there was also two other Sounds namely Dikatone owned by a breda name FISH and Rocking Time owned by a breda named Gladdy, a over SELASSIE School the incident did happen, it was a Cricket Match and the Umpire gave Joe LBW, Joe seh him nuh out and slapped di Umpire eena him head and Cracked his Scull and he was pronounced Dead, Big Joe got maybe around 7 and Did 4 and it affected him mentally, I saw him some years ago in Halfway Tree, but I heard that he died, in this business ( most) Artists don't care for each other,, HONOR and MAJESTY TO CLAUDE BIG STONE SINCLAIR for always reaching out to fallen BROTHERS and SISTERS, YVONNE STERLING, BEVERLY KELSO are now BIG JOE, some of my favorite Big Joe songs are ymasgan in different fashion(Now all ye Producer, like the Man called Jah Pops along with the great Producer Lloyd Mathador, the musical sound you got to come on down and be when I do play Ymasgan in different fashion) another one is Girl a never knew what ah miss until a dub you so, ah tilyuh! I used to live ah Payne Land dem time deh and was a fan of BIG Joe, Dem time deh Ranking Joe name Likkle Joe, a nuff things to be said but fi now a it dat.....
