I will always find it so crazy how long this man's career had spanned for. Whenever I first discovered Mr. Lamb 2 years ago, I had only thought all his Stark rags were his only compositions. Until I keep digging and found the *entire* expansive list of all his works. Blew my mind that day how much he did.

Ragtime Reverie next? 👀

I think not. Ever heard of 'Purple Moon'? Or 'Our Emperor'? Or 'Cheese It?' Or 'Wal-Yo'? There are dozens we will never hear, and many that are out there to be discovered, but have not yet been posted to KZbin. He even had some obscure pieces arranged by Eubie Blake according to They All Played Ragtime. But most curious is the fact that no one talks about what may be his first ever composition, 'Coontown Frolics' (1900). It was described by Lamb to be his very first piece, written when he was only 13, in TAPR, but is absent from the comprehensive lists of songs Ted Tjaden and Perfessor Bill have created.

@@GavinLepley I'm aware of all of these pieces' existence. Cinders is definitely on the rarer end, but we are never seeing the lost Mills pieces. There's also the collaboration between Lamb and Joplin that Lamb mentioned in a 1958 interview with Bob Darch. Darch later debuted this piece as "Scott Joplin's Dream", but this was very likely just an inside joke or hoax since it sounds literally nothing like anything Joplin or Lamb would write. I believe this collaboration between Joplin and Lamb was the one Blake arranged, but I wasn't aware of multiple. Has the public ever heard these pieces?

This is a really nice work! It shows its relatively 'young' age quite well I think, because I can hear a bit of Eubie Blake in it, some Novelty and Stride as well.
