No music more beautiful than the music of the German Romantic masters : Joseph Lanner, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Carl Maria von Weber, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner, von Flotow, the Strauß family ( Austrians, nevertheless, their German blood and genius exude in their music ), and so many others. Too small space to render justice to all. Deeply and profoundfully grateful, eternal masters, for the immense joy that you all have brought to innumerable music lovers. Myself, the smallest and insignificant amongst them. Dankeschön, Dankeschön !

this is an uncommon but really nice waltz of Josef Lanner. Unlike JOhann Strauss sr. who was his partner, Lanner's Waltzes are more melancholic. It s worth to note that in this recording lacks the introduction. Anyway,thanks to get this rare version.

That's correct. I consider myself kinda Lanner expert, but I haven't known about Hoffnungsstrahlen for a long time. Now the waltz is among my Lanner favourites, and I also have a version with the introduction.
