As an embittered and angry young man the racial politics and ideology of the Skinheads appealed to him. He eventually became involved in the involved in the anti-Catholic and Masonic Society of Orange Men. Later he began to look to alternatives to both Communism and Capitalism. A friend suggested the Distributist theories of Chesterton and Belloc. Through the influence of their writings he was led to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
