"Joseph Smith was charged to restore a correct knowledge of God and man. To assist humanity in accomplishing this near impossible task, God has been about the business of orchestrating things in preparation for that revolution we call the Restoration."
Robert Millet, professor at Brigham Young University, presents the 2015 Truman G. Madsen Lecture on Eternal Man, emphasizing our relationship to a personal, corporeal God. This lecture was delivered on December 3, 2015.

I love the temple. It was so faith-promoting to hear of the miracles Elder Bednar shared.

Satan may have a marketing plan that seems to out perform God's plan but if God was to manifest His power and dominance over Satan it would not require faith to be lead to God's plan. It shows the wisdom, humility and restraint of God. As he says at the end it keeps us humble and searching, even against the apparent odds.

+Joel Freeman Yes, I love Truman Madsen! :). I have not joined the LDS church because My son wrecked my car over 2 years ago and I cannot go to church meetings, sacrament. My church is way too far. But, in my heart, I am LDS.

Yes, actually I had quite a few visits with some missionaries. Apparently they could not find anyone near me in my district. When I get moved back to my home in the NC mountains, I know someone will get me to meetings, church. I am selling this house cheap to get back home in the mountains. Pray for me.

I have been LDS for almost 2 decades. I learned so many gospel and universal facts from Brother Millet through the many lectures recorded years ago. I recommend them.

Around the 5:55 min mark, ''withstand scrutiny'' Very true. As Mormons are not afraid of HONEST scrutiny of their own doctrines.

How can the progress of man not go to omnipotence, and omnisience. The more you know the more you can know. The more capability you have the more you can have. Like a nuclear chain reaction a knowledge, and power explosion occures and never ends till all is obtained. Why should their not be a race that has existed for many billions or even eons beyond comprehension that have become Divine as we understand Divinity to be? Why do men think they can not be children of such potential when even our earth society, if we survived our moral lack, would be very advanced beyond imagination in millions, billions, trillions and more years. Life in this tiny earth time is not the only life progressing over the vastness of existence.

Uncle G! I check in now and then to see how he's evolving and progressing. Though I don't agree with all his ways at least he is doing something about it, on a massive scale. All the best!

I think it's because we don't place a lot of focus on oratory skills. The main thing is to teach by the Spirit, and to receive by the Spirit. So long as the message is right. Sometimes preaching and lecturing can be risky, because the ego can get involved. We have all sat through 'bland' talks. I used to wonder how so many praise/worship/Pentecostal type congregations could attract crowds. Then I think of a typical LDS meeting which is quite conservative, no electric guitars, lighting or effects. The Sacrament is the core of Sunday worship service.

It seems that all comments are so positive. This proves Joseph Smith was indeed a profit of God, and was given permission by God, to marry little girls. Only, the profit Joseph Smith could receive this divine revalation. Pay Lay Ale.

I have little idea how to defend Joseph in regards to polygamy. I am an LDS member. I do not agree with polygamy for myself. However, Christians forget the impact and prevalence of multiple wives in their history. The 12 sons of Israel are from four different women. Jesus himself descends from one of those tribes (at least on mother Marys' side). Not trying to justify polygamy, just stating a fact. You state 'little girls'. Again I don't know how to reconcile this, I've checked the statments and manifests that support the claims, not all are concrete evidence. The youngest age (according to wiki, not 100% verifiable) is 14. To be blunt, does Joseph have sexual relations with them? Either he is a Prophet of God or he is not, it's that simple. And it is up to each individual to decide. I have taken it to God and have personal confirmation that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. I do not care if you think I'm deluded, or think I am misled by a lying spirit or false witness. I have relied on that exact same of conversing with God and receiving personal responses all my life. It has never let me down. Again I don't know how to reconcile this part of this religion, I'm responding because I feel to. Have a good day.
