I saw the second to last show in Dallas on 10/19. Crazy to hear the news on 10/21/1995.

Saw them in Sacramento on 10/6/95 with Plant and Page headlining. I was shocked when I heard the news several days later.

I’ll never forget the day he died, my tickets had just arrived via mail to see them in Boston. The news comes out that he died and I was devastated. This band was amazing and I can’t help thinking about how much more great music we would’ve heard. Rip Shannon

Shannon Hoon's death pissed me off more than any other rock star's death. After he died, I heard Blind Melon's version of "3 is a Magic Number," and I grew even more pissed. Shannon Hoon's voice was brilliant.

@@gregorykrug8034Shannon in general (music or life) was truly amazing! Such a talent that will carry on for generations long after we are dead. He was and forever will be the heart beat of this band.

O coração parou de bater e ninguém queria acreditar. A voz de Shannon Hoon era uma potência. Descansa em paz cara. A minha geração não conhecerá outro igual como você.😢

After seeing this interview about how Shannon was, then you see the All I Can Say doc…there’s that funny part with arguing with a security card saying you aren’t gonna do a damn thing it made me laugh as it was obvious he was so ready to throw down with that dude hahaha

I always thought that Blind Melon were all very very competent Musicians individually, that’s why once together magic always happened. Insane to think that next Year will be the 30th Anniversary of Shannon’s passing. Rock In Paradise dude 🔊✨

Both of these guys were (are) wonderful musicians and have spent decades being interviewed about Shannon. Life's or always fair. Thorn and Stevens are a top 10 guitar duo from the 90's. ✌️

He was cleanish until some "c**t" in la sold him an eight ball and some crack. That got him going again. To top it all off he didn't want to tour . He wanted to be clean for a while before touring and just be a dad. The record company apparently forced him on tour(contract). They left the Europe tour early because Shannon was really itching to use . Thorne even said they should have just called the remaining gigs in la after Shannon relapsed. I really miss him! That voice is once in a lifetime!

I get the feeling they still hold a lot of resent for Shannon. They are all great musicians but never would have attained the level they did without Shannon. Sometimes I think history needs to disappear after so many years and just celebrate the good stuff.

Didn't get that at all. It's impossible not to have some resentment but I think that they genuinely loved the guy but he definitely had demons that they are just being honest. People like that are rare and they sadly burn out quickly.

sounds so much like axl lol there's a story of axl fighting a guy who pulled out a gun and axl just picked up a broken sign from the street and whacked him with it and won 😆 Shannon sounds just as crazy and fearless. must be an Indiana thing xd looking at them you'd never guess they could fight

I always say that Layne Staley had the greatest voice of the 1990s, but Shannon Hoon's voice was second to NONE. I want to say that he had the voice of an angel, but he was no angel. He was brilliant though.

Shannon was Shannon . Nobody was going to change him or stop him. In part it was his undoing . I really miss him and I wish somehow he would have remembered little Nico on his binge and stopped.
