Kennedy is so underappreciated and overlooked. Her drag style may be more old school/Southern compared to mainstream/more popular styles of drag now but she's so talented and beautiful!! She's also so funny (chicken costume/"After a long night of hooking", "Fame cuz clearly the struggle is real", "They gone me-me yo ass to death, girl", etc.) and real. @afiyagasoline71083 жыл бұрын
@@WillValforent I think she was trying to say that she can forgive but never forget. Because she feels like a real friend would've let her know about what they said. I love trixxie but it’s obvious that she was gonna do anything in her power to remain in the competition no matter who she had to put down (especially during that moment when shangela called her out for putting thorgys note on the wall). I don't think trixie really think about competition back then though I feel like Trixie can get too comfortable with ppl pulling tricks & pranks like she does with Katya. We all know Trixie is a trickster with really sharp tongue. She can cross the lines that Katya wouldn't mind but other people would.
@luisjaime58493 жыл бұрын
@@desubysnusnu I know what you’re saying but that’s a personality trait that makes her Trixxie not the real person behind it. Kennedy pointed out that she played the game and gave the producers what they wanted...which is totally fine (considering that this is reality tv) but after the show ended, she wished she could’ve been real about the situation. This is a problem with a lot of queens, they forget that drag is a character, and not who they really are. Kennedy was having trouble understanding her because she felt a genuine connection with her outside the show but was backstabbing her in the show. It all comes down to being honest. The queens don’t mind the shade and the jokes but after show, they have to come back to reality.

I think I understand what Kennedy is saying. She just prefers people to be genuine, whether they're saying something positive or negative to her. She wants them to be open and upfront and not duplicitous, and that duplicity triggers a side of her that she's not comfortable with so she prefers to protect her peace than to "repair" the relationship with a person whose values don't really align with hers. It is valid and makes sense.

As a psychologist, this interview was profound. Kennedy Davenport is not only a talented drag queen but also a very evolved human being. Very few people are as authentic and honest as Kennedy. We all want to put on a persona and shine ourselves up so that people will like us. Kennedy dared to be real, dared to show us her shadows, and the hard things she has come through. Three psych admissions, a suicide attempt, overdosing, and more. She dared to show us who she is beneath her persona. And, it was so beautiful. Truly her struggles have been like dross to pure gold. What an amazing human being! Kennedy, you are beloved, now and always,
