It's amazing! Without all her make up and costumes she just looks like anyone's grandmother. But when she puts on those sequins, feathers and the music starts up she is the only superstar! Magic!

I noticed her singing voice got deeper as she aged. This is fascinating though. The little bit oarts that we did not see in the Josefine Baker Story HBO movie.

@@blipco5 - No. YOU are obnoxious. Privately she did look motherly, homely. Puts on high heels, the frog, feathers and boas and VOILA not Frida Mcdonald but JOSEPHINE BAKER. MERVEILLEUX

I feel so ambivalent when I watch this kind of footage of the great lie Baker being that she is one of the Premier pioneers and women entertainment for Black and Whites also a pioneer and civil rights for everyone and lived a very full life I'm just miffed that maybe someone like Diana Ross would not get the opportunity to play This Heart she could have nailed it she looked nothing like Billie Holiday nor did she sound like Billie Holiday but she was able to bring the essence of Billie Holiday to the screen and it is one thing that Lynn Whitfield could not do many people who saw the Josephine Baker story and took part in producing it had never met Josephine Baker and exploited the more known parts of her life instead of the parts of her life which made her get military treatment during her funeral which shows that she should get any honor that Bob Hope gets for entertaining the troops during the war refusing to play before segregated audiences are pay play for venues where she was not even allowed to sleep women like her Billie Holiday Ella Fitzgerald Lena Horne lives were so much more than a 2-hour movie that producers must be very careful and diligent in their research before bringing such a large project to the screen everyone knows Josephine Baker went to Paris and found herself treated as good as any white person and then it made her stay there for years before she would even think about coming back to the United States and when she did her experiences were so dismal that she denounced her American citizenship the fact that she was followed by the FBI just for being a liberal Entertainer call a communist on large platform such as Walter Winchell's news reports which was one of the premiere reporters of the day cause her to lose thousands and contracts to perform yes I do applaud HBO for doing the biopic and even bringing a unknown to the screen but this was a project and required someone with great knowledge respect and a burning desire to portray places in baker's life that are little known or little publicize everyone knows about the black dancer in the banana girdle some know about the woman who adopted children from all Races but there is so much more that could be told hopefully Miss Roster get one of her children to do it maybe Tracy
