If you could explain the exact aides you are using to do this I think rider's would understand this lesson better. Not everyone who watches your channel have or have access to advanced training instruction. Thank you so much. Love your training principles and business model. Horses first. Here's to continued success.

Great explanation... I enjoy watching them figure it out! I love that you let them make the mistake and then reaching the question with out changing your aides! 👏👍🐎❤️ thanks for the video!

Good that you show the suppling in the walk, not only to teach it, but also to better prepare for the walk canter. You accomplish two things and keep it interesting for the horse. Also, so good that you put emphasis on getting the weight on the hind legs and that you can make position without losing throughness. Your reminder that you have to be mentally prepared to allow the horse to make a choice, accept his effort and make corrections to show him what you want is where forcing stops and teaching begins. Thinking like a trainer changes the dynamic. Knowing the exact aids only works in combination with dozens of tiny details and you offer a lot of information in a short video that beg for attention. You say to have passive hands but I would add that we should have following hands (which is the same thing but with clarity)especially in the walk and canter. This puts additional responsibility on the rider to keep the following hand (and seat) in a transition that will be awkward in the young horse. Thanks Joseph. ❤

Can you explain the aid to ask for the walk from the canter? I don’t think I’m clear enough with my aid, and my horse always either braces or does a few trot steps.

So helpful. I realise I have been guilty of pressing the aid! Now I have a better idea of how to ask it.

What does pressing the aid mean? Is it using (squeezing) the inside leg to ask for the canter while the outside leg remains back?

What's really interesting is how often you test the horse
