Because I had brain surgery (2 times) and radiation treatments (3 times) I became very sedentary due to balance issues, deaf in 1 ear, and contracted Type II diabetes. Then, ... later on I found out I have COPD (mild) so I didn't think I could sing in Choir anymore at my church. After talking to my music minister for encouragement, praying for months, and seeking His will I want to give it a shot. I feel after hearing this magnificent choir singing these inspiring words, and with God's help I can do this. Thank you for the inspiration to at least try it again!!

Today woke up discouraged. Reading through the Bible, the passage today included Psalm 3. God reminded me again through his word that He is my shield around me, my glory and the lifter of my head. I call out, he answers, I lie down and sleep because he sustains me. I recalled this song and sang along. Thanks for blessing me with this truth through song.

Prestonwood was our home church for over 20 years until we moved. Their choir is second to none. This song in particular is a powerful worship song. I can't listen to it without crying over everything God has done in my life.

Love all versions of this song, but this one stands out for me. The love and emotion shown by the leads is brilliant, not to mention the arrangement. I love Brooklyn Tabernacle Chior, but Prestonwood has gained a new fan... Will be teaching my youth group this song. Psalms 3:3... What blessing it is know that our Shield is impregnable.

Our choir has done this song repeatedly over the years and it is one of my favorites. We have not had a rehearsal since March due to COVID 19. Sometimes when I need a spiritual boost I'll turn to this as well as Majesty & Glory, To Love Our God, and Upon This Rock. We're suppose to start rehearsal again in September. Let's hope/pray we can go back to praising God through music again.
@merdelune93 жыл бұрын
Have you gone back to practice?
@marieanderson59893 жыл бұрын
@@merdelune9 Not traditional practice. Our worship leader e mails songs for us to go over on our own. 1 hour before service we rehearse the music. So far it's limited to 12-15 people per week as opposed to the regular 40-45 choir members. The orchestra is limited also. Last Sunday we had 1 cellist and 3 violinist to join the pianist and organist who perform every week. If you're ever free 8:30 or 11:00 CST you can watch us live at www.tulsafbc.org. You can also go to the site at any time, click archives, and watch previous messages.

With a choir this big, why so many "soloists" with microphones? They just mess it up. Love doing this song with our choir, but we never have a soloist. You just don't need that. Really detracts from the song, IMHO.

This was a good rendition of this song no bout-a-dout it. one of my favorites. however I do agree what's up with the folk up front? not needed at all period. If it were a praise team that they desired well alright then why put the choir up there behind them And vice versa? of course in my most humble opinion. No one, but no one can bring it, Sing it like the "Sisters" those 3 young ladies can call all heaven down no matter what they sing. YASSS😀🎵 when the master calls me home & I leave the shores of this world, meet my Jesus see my babies all 4 of them oh happy day!🙏😂 escort me right on in singing that song! nothing else need be said😁

One of the classics from Maranatha music. Our new Maranatha (Calvary Chapel) pastor seems to have no interest in this kind of music. I was in Christian radio back in the day when this was the very best music we offered to our listeners. This is far and away the best recording of this song that I have ever heard. I'm 78.
