When I watched the tape after this game, devastated, that's when it finally hit me, like alarm bells going off all over the place, that the Buffalo Bills have a very big wide receiver problem. A lack of explosiveness, a lack of separation, a lack of effort, and all of that included Diggs... and I firmly believe that the Bills staff were seeing these same issues from Diggs on tape and it played a large part in why they traded him and took a 30 million dollar dead cap hit just to be rid of him. He's obviously declining, whether that's physically or because he's mentally checked out from the Bills and no longer wants to give 100% anymore. On huge plays, gotta have it plays, he's running his routes at like 50% speed. It's not tempoing, it just reeked of "I don't give a shit, I'm not getting the ball anyway". I also think that some of their issues on offense are scheme related, a lot of their passing concepts have me scratching my head at times when I watch the tape. I think that can get better now that Joe Brady has complete control and an off-season to design his own scheme rather than call what he likes out of Ken Dorsey's scheme.. but we'll have to see. The Chiefs game was winnable. That's the sad part. We played them tougher than anyone else in the AFC did. We gave them as good of a fight as the niners did in the super bowl, with a defense that was 1 step away from being a practice squad due to injuries. Josh played his guts out in this game. Gave his team the lead several times, against the current dynasty of our generation. Working with the little he had, offensively. Even with Diggs, I think the Bills have been missing that sure-fire safety valve player like Travis Kelce is for Patrick. Someone you know that even if everyone else gets boxed up, Travis is GOING to make plays no matter what. The Bills weren't getting that from Diggs anymore, not in a long time.

The Bills pull both tackles often. They both are athletic enough to get ahead of the running back and both will pancake dudes 20 plus yards down field. They can do that because both guards are great anchor and can prevent the back side rusher from breaking up the play.

In regards to what you were talking about on the offesnsive line, their RG is a rookie whos definitely the power guard style of player, heavier, slower feet. Brown on the other hand, the RT, I believe has one of the best the best RAS for tackles ever, so hes just a much better athlete, which is why they probably choose to pull him and their tackles in general more often.
@yoursodumn
@yoursodumn 2 ай бұрын
Big Spence had a perfect 10 RAS. He's an absolute monster. They were pulling Dawkins for the tackle wrap early in the year and then started using Brown on occassion by the end because Dawkins was more experienced, but Brown performed it quite well so he got more and more chances which added even more variability to their run game

Josh has to scratch and claw for every yard this game. Play design and his teammates were not quite up to par with the level he played at. A great part about the Chiefs dynasty is that that's almost never true - Mahomes and Reid are both at their best when the moment matters most, and their leadership brings that out of their teammates no matter how previously unreliable those teammates were. That doesn't happen with the Bills yet. Considering that before 2019, that was not Andy Reid's reputation (picturing them being offside on the game winning pick vs NE in the championship game Jan 2019) I have hope that the Bills can develop that killer mindset. Josh has it but nobody else is on his level yet, not his coaches or his teammates In Josh's last four elimination games his defense has forced one turnover, and averages more than 30 points against and gives up buckets of yards, that is disgraceful. I remember Burrow's Bengals getting like 9 tipped ball interceptions in their SB run. The Bills need to learn to show up for their QB
@orush-co1dy

There’s a reason that they dropped Diggs. They want to run everything through Josh. Establish the run, let Josh eat. Shakir, Samuel and Kincaid are reliable weapons. Just need to add someone with a bit more speed on the outside in the draft and the offence will be solid.

Good stuff. As a Chiefs fan I felt like the end of this game the D was so gassed and after they couldn't pick up Allen's fumble it looked dire. I honestly think the OC blinked at the two-minute warning, respect the call to take a shot but really thought yhey were grinding us down. Same in the SB with 3rd & 4 at the end of regulation. KC deserves credit for their grit but honestly they were a bit fortunate too.

As a Colts fan, a lot of people freaked out when the Texans got Diggs. I’m not overly concerned. He doesn’t give 100% effort, gets mad when he doesn’t get the ball, and seems like a cancer to the locker room. Not many great receivers get traded twice… I think he will be in Houston for 1 year. Josh Allen was a reason the Bills were in it, and he was THE reason they lost on the final drive. Rule #1: Never allow Patrick Mahomes to get the ball back late in the 4th. Bills tried the quick strike early on the last drive, but it failed so they needed to erase 8.5 minutes off the clock. They were successful until the 2 minute mark where Josh goes full dunce mode (common of running QBs). On that 2nd down, Josh lost the game by throwing to Shakir instead of Diggs on the crosser. Diggs would get a 1st down, go down, keep the clock ticking. OR Shakir catches the TD, Bills up by 4, and Mahomes gets the ball back with 1 min 52 seconds and 2 time outs. On 3d down, Josh not throwing to Shakir at the loop, KC Sneed bails off of him to cover Diggs. Shakir, now unguarded, only needed 3 yards for the first, go down, and start the clock with 4 more downs. At the very worse, turnover notwithstanding, you line up your kicker, who has been missing critical FG's all season, a chip shot to tie the game.

Not even Tom Brady has done that (later he did 2011-2018). There is a reason, one is because opponents don't follow rule #1. Latest example, Feb 11, 2024 San Francisco in the SB.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. That play was a designed shot to the end zone and it worked. Allen made the correct decision. If you wanna blame the decision then that’s on the OC. If you wanna blame Allen then say he should’ve had better pocket presence.

Did you have money on the Bills? Seems as if you are making a lot more excuses for the QB than you usually do.

Or Allen just had a pretty solid game when his WR1 turned to a ghost and his injury riddled defence once again went ghost in the playoffs
