It started really sweet and heart-felt, then the nips came to play and all was lost haha. But for serious, this was one of the best ALS "Ice Bucket Challenge" video; Josh made sure the meaning wasn't lost, and money was donated. Because just doing the challenge doesn't help much aside from spreading awareness, but the money donated has the potential to lead to breakthroughs. Loved this.

My best friend's father died from ALS and I saw the whole thing from diagnose to being there when he died in the hospital. He's completely right, it's a fucking horrible disease and Josh, my thoughts are with you and your family regarding your mom. Side note: Hey Josh! Can you stop being awesome. That'd be great, thanks. :)

THANK YOU FOR FINALLY EXPLAINING THIS. For the past several days I just kept seeing this ice bucket challenge and something about ALS. I didn't get why the ice bucket thing was necessary. It's GREAT that this is raising awareness, but not so great that I couldn't even fully decipher what the point was because each 30 second video was "hi this is ___ I accept ___'s challenge and nominate ___, ___, and ___ you have 24 hours [splashed with a bucket of ice water]." No one was explaining past that. So! Again, thank you for this. And thank you for donating. : )

I love that he donated to Lewy Body Dementia too. I know he said his mom is currently battling it. But I'm really touched he donated because over the past few months I've watched my uncle fight (and he's not gonna make it much longer. A year at best) with the same exact disease. Thank you so much Josh. I'm beyond appreciative.

Josh that was hilarious and totally sweet!! You are right about how many people are affected by disease, someone in their family, a friend or even themselves. Because of you, if i get nominated by one of me friends, or possibly my dad, even if I don't get nominated, I'm gonna donate $20 to the ALS foundation. I REALLY wish I lived in Vancouver not only to have dumped water on you but I wish I could meet you.

This is probably the best one I've seen. The ice bucket challenge is fun (I did it too,) but I do think the message is getting lost. ALS is a truly terrible disease that doesn't get the attention or research funding it needs.

I have no words to truly explain how I feel. Josh Ramsay is so incredibly sweet for doing this. Not that he inspires, but seriously kicks ass when asked to do something. A lot of people probably thought of donating before watching this, but I'm pretty sure afterwards everyone is certain of their decision and is more aware of where this money is going.

I have to say this is the most heartfelt, important, genuine, caring, all around amazing ALS Ice bucket challenge video I have seen, ever. I think it's amazing how much you donated, how much you actually cared about the reasoning for the challenge, and the fact that you did it for more than one cause. It's quite selfless. Plus that was a lot of fucking ice water. You, Josh Ramsay, are a hero.

Funnily enough I was walking around Gastown yesterday and happened to run into your challenge. To be honest when I first heard of it yesterday I was disapproving of the ALS challenge or other challenges that were similar because of the same reasons you mentioned in your video (no makeup challenge was originally meant to raise "awareness" for cancer, for example). When I asked a nice lady in the red shirt in the back around 6:11 and heard that you were donating $100 for every person who dumped water on you (and now I know it's actually $200) I was extremely pleased with what you were doing and that you were actually doing something about ALS. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.

THANK YOU! :D Also, thank you, Josh Ramsay, for educating people on this disease and on dementia. Dementia runs in my family as well and watching my grandmother go slowly was very hard. Thank you for bringing up the need to donate to the organizations in charge of finding ways to reverse these diseases. It is SO very important. You are LITERALLY the most generous guy I've taken inspiration to. You do inspire me, Josh, and I know you don't like being called a role-model or an inspiration, but you are to many people. My dad used to be a personal nurse for a man named Sam a few years ago. Sam had developed ALS in his mid-30's, and gradually began to affect him over a slow period of time. My dad used to take me or my siblings to see Sam, and although Sam couldn't speak directly, he used his only remaining function- his eyes- to communicate. We always saw him on Halloween, going to visit his mother who lived with him. We went into his room and he greeted us by blinking three times for 'hello'. After a few more years, Sam got weaker, and eventually he couldn't even move his eyes or blink. Eventually, he passed away. At the age of 62-63. Can't remember what age, but it's one of them two. But it's extraordinary he lived almost 30 more years with the disease. Just goes to show how everyone who's healthy shouldn't take life for granted. Anything can happen to you at any point in your life. Be glad that you're a lucky person. Josh, my prayers go out to your mom. I really hope she will be okay. Stay strong, hon. We'll support you through thick and thin.

This is by far the best one I have seen. A close family friend suffered from ALS, he died at the age of 27 and watching what his family had gone through during that time was horrible. The disease destroys all your nerves and which in turn you can't eat, you can't move, you can't speak, imagine living like that. As for other diseases, I work in a nursing home and I see everyday the effects of multiple diseases and it's hard even when it's not your family but when your the one providing their care and trying to help them continue their daily living as independently as they can, watching them steadily decline everyday and I wish everyone had the chance to see what I do. It's so important to help fund for research because it truly is an awful way for your life to come to an end or even just to live with it for the rest of your life...mind you it's also good to know majority of your proceeds do pay for research and not a the labs wages which is where most proceeds have been going unfortunately. I think this video was amazing and is just another reason why you guys are by far one of my favorite bands. I've been a fan since the beginning and I will continue to support you guys! seen yous 2 years ago in North Bay and you guys were pretty fucking awesome and full of energy! don't change.

You were the first one I watched to actually sit down and explain what Als was, props to you. I had no idea what it was as every else I've watched did something along the lines of "hey guys, I'm doing the als bucket challenge for awareness and i'm challenging x,y,z to do it too!" and then proceeding to dump ice+water on their heads. There were no explanations about what ALS was. Although, the bucket challenge kinda turned into a I dare you thing, it certainly is working out especially with the exposure done by celebrates or popular figures.
