I don’t listen to Rogan, I don’t mess with Spotify or iTunes, but I watch every KZbin video and I DO NOT “SKIP” commercials, ever, and I always hit the 👍 button….. that is my way of contributing ❤ Thanks fellas! Another great one.

@JohnnyButtons - well said, it’s almost as Rogan, Spotify and iTunes have become too mainstream and corporate so we’re getting mediocre entertainment, but this Lytes out podcast is something special, in-depth interview with the legends of mma. I can still remember those pride battles Barnett had, what a Viking….. also stepping up to Fedor’s brother Alexander, man has no fear.

Great interview. Josh has been one of my faves since the mid 2000s when we had a conversation about Fist of the North Star on Myspace. Also I'm always suggesting the Lytes Out podcast to people.

Hey guys- at about one hour and 56 minutes in- I think Josh is talking about Kathy Brothers. She fought for Mezger on one of his two Texas shows from later 1997 to early 1998. She's on Sherdog. I have a little footage from one of her fights.

Barnett is right, there's something just different about MMA and combat sports in general back then. I was watching Akebono vs Giant Silva the other day and people were insulting them and talking about how trash their records were, like who cares? These guys were two big monsters and were special attractions, fights like that are so hard to do because the fans just sh!t on it and I don't understand why. There been several Japanese MMA promotions since Pride like Sengoku, Dream, Rizin etc but they just haven't been able to recover from the Pride days.
