I work at A.O. Smith in Ashland City, TN and we haven't heard of them discontinuing these heaters we make. We make Lochinivar too. Actually, A.O. Smith owns Lochinvar. We're not far from Lebanon. A.O. Smith in Ashland City, TN is the world's largest water heater manufacturer. You should swing by Mikey. Less than an hour away. We make that new tankless too. The X3 Adapt I believe. There is a ban on these water heaters for the state of California only starting January 1st 2027. Their state requires lower emissions and we make low nox heaters for them now. A.O. Smith is always innovating.

i have power vent 50,000 btu 40 gallon water heat never run out of hot water it makes water as fast as we use it 4 people in a row can take a shower even two at same time in two bathrooms. the tankless are a giant scam you save nothing heater will never pay for itself.

Mike nobody individually is going to spend $3000 for this unit plus $1000 plus for installation? Only way there going sell these are in new home construction just comes with the package of buying the home. Here in the uk. Many of our water heaters are heated up indirectly with an internal coil, the gas boiler is used to heat the water heater... we have zone valves controlling this...

F. U. Josh! It takes an hour once a year to descale my 199,000 BTU Rinnai. So not a big deal. Most homeowners though would rather not do it and some will pay $200-$400 to have it done. We have 650 homes in my community and I'm probably the only one that services it. Every house in here has a Rinnai. lol
