Күн бұрын

Please Subscribe! This special episode (filmed BEFORE Covid-19) features some pretty cool aviation youtubers. Dan (@SFilmsTakingOff) and Christy (@PilotChristy) talk to Josh Flowers of Aviation 101, Carl Hancock with Fly With The Guys, Bryan Turner of JustPlaneSilly (otherwise known as "Bryan Visits the FSDO Again)," Bryan Walstom of the Experimental Aircraft Channel, Bryan Keith of Wolficorn, and Martin Pauly.
Is it easy to create a KZbin channel? Does a GoPro get awarded with every private pilot certificate handed out these days? Does the channel even make money? These and other questions are discussed.

That sure is a lot of BRYAN's on one stage! How can you handle it! Hah! Looking forward to seeing what you put together from everyone being there. It sure was a lot of fun being apart of this and getting the true "opportunity" to see you production and the "behind the scenes." I think The "Taking Off" Channel is about to EXPLODE! Great Content. Good people. Awesome topics! I challenge everyone visiting this page to [ SUBSCRIBE ] right NOW to this "Taking Off" Channel. Let them know that you want to see them grow and keep producing more and more great content! If you saw the "behind the scenes" you would be in "SHOCK" the amount of professional effort that goes into making these videos.

Great show, Dan & Christy! Great guests as well - I've watched them all at one time or another. Not enough hours in a day! I think I'm subscribed to 85 different channels as of now ...! Anyway, great stuff - had me rolling several times here! 😂 Like I say to everyone regarding KZbin - God Himself could post the perfect video, and there WILL be those amongst us that will give it a thumbs down, make ridiculous suggestions, and insult or berate Him. You can bet on that, as sure as the sun will rise in the east tomorrow! Thankfully the larger percentage of viewers are respectful and appreciate the content. When I see great content, I let it be known to as many as I can. This channel is no exception! 😊 Keep up the great work! 👍🍻

Great discussion Guys and Gal, the negative comments really hit home, as Josh said I "attempted" to stop a hater before they could comment, but alas ONE did anyway! even though I set the stage that this was my 1st time flying a turboprop and I wasn't expecting the amount of power on takeoff and backed off the power a little and realigned the plane, because the delta from 215 to 750 was so much more than the 160 to 215 when getting my High Performance endorsement, one comment in particular I had to delete because of the language! Like Martin, I made a mistake on a long cross distance flight and the controller called me out on it, as a new pilot

I wanted to leave a comment on this. You talked about your responsibility to pilots and aviators and how your channel needs to be 'correct.' I agree with that, with the one exception of Bryan Turner. Now, I'm going to admit, out of the six guests, I only am subscribed to three of them, Josh, Martin and Bryan. I'll have to check the others out eventually. Josh puts out some awesome videos, whether going cross country, or working with Dan Gryder to make pilots and aviation safer. I really enjoy Martin's stuff as 'Everyman pilot', the guy who flys around going places for whatever reason, I'm assuming business. Kind of like Niko does, or Kris of Baron Pilot. Along for the ride. Bryan, on the other hand, I don't consider as an 'aviation channel.' I look at his stuff and I see a comedian doing jokes around flying and aviation. His is a comedy channel. God forbid that I actually LEARN anything from him, except maybe how blue water should taste. But, I don't WANT to learn from him, I want to laugh, and snort milk out of my nose. Anyone who doesn't understand that, even his Facebook stuff (okay, that WAS a bit over the top) is meant to make you laugh, and he does a good job of it. Now, having said that, I watched him flying back with Martin, doing part of his Instrument stuff, and he was dead serious about his flying. No jokes, nothing funny, I'm trying to learn something here. That kind of serious. That IS the kind of pilot I expect from him, from all of them, but that's not portrayed in his channel because that's not what his channel is all about. He's out to make people laugh, and he does a good job of it, sometimes too good. Either that, or not well enough that people can't tell he's being funny, one or the other. IF Bryan got serious and filmed his Instrument Training, I think most people would be shocked to see a completely different person than what we're all used to seeing. More like Steve Thorne, I expect. Having said all of that, I like all the channels I watch, for different reasons. I can't, and no one else should either, group them all together as 'flying videos', because each is different. People need to understand that. Dan, Christie, great video as always. Keep 'em coming!

I have a KZbin channel, which I started just so friends and family could see what I do when I go flying and for me to look at a catch myself making mistakes, so I can learn. I have to say that it is a lot of work to post a video and I have to say that now as I get more subscribers to my channel, I have to think about content to keep it interesting for them. The thing that I alway wonder about is do I include all my flying avtivities, like paragliding, model flying and car restoration or do I keep focused on the one topic. WHat do you think?

Mr. Nesbit, I do not know what you were seeking, but if you will look at the numerous prior In The Hangars and the channels of these participants, you will find many things to inspire you and give you the direction you are seeking. With regard to where you can go to finish your license, there are many flight schools you can call, you can ask pilots are airports who can refer you to an independent CFI, the FAA website will generate a list of CFI's in your area, and your local Flight Standards District Office may well be able to give you guidance regarding training for people with disabilities. There are pilots out there with various disabilities that are flying. You might also contact AOPA directly for some information.
