I just watched this and I’m very impressed with our governor Josh Shapiro. The fact that he got upset with what Trump said about Charleroi shows that he cares. Charleroi is my home town, it’s not perfect but it’s peaceful. This man is a great statesman, with common sense. He would make a great president one day. GOD bless. P.S. Margret Hoover is magnificent!

I grew up visiting family in Charleroi. I have wonderful memories of my youth playing with my cousins. The economic decline of this Mon-Valley community started when the steel mills began to shut down in Pennsylvania….it has NOTHING to do with the immigrants who now live in this community. I work at a thriving independent community hospital near this region. I have seen an increase in Haitian and Nepali service workers in our hospital. They are filling the needs to have housekeeping and service staffe positions filled in this hospital. They are contributing to the workforce in this community. Thank you Margaret Hoover and Gov. Shapiro for bringing this to light and setting the records straight. Proud to be a Pennsylvanian under this leadership!!!

@suannecacamese8805 Having to come to PA at age 2 from NJ and as a student of history & economics, you're right, PGH & NEPA's steel mills closing in the 70s/80s started a 40-year economic reshuffle that still going on as we re-orient to a more knowledge, service, high-tech & healthcare economy. Your data & experience is on the money in 2024.

I have to respectfully disagree with Josh Shapiro's take on Bob Casey showing courage for changing his stance on abortion. Senator Casey's father was a pro-life hero, and he spat on that family legacy if it meant cruising through a Democratic primary. Watching Bob Casey dishonor his father's good name made his subsequent election loss to Dave McCormick all the more satisfying.

Governor Josh Shapiro definitely has a bright future among a deep bench of many well qualified Democrats, however, I am glad he opted out of the VP slot as he can still help deliver Pennsylvania whether his is on the ticket or not. Shapiro impressed me by getting I-95 operational in about two weeks and not taking months or years. This clearly required focus by a very capable executive. Pennsylvania is a vast state with large cities and suburbs, along with swaths of rural areas and will provide an excellent training ground for a future Presidential run in 2028 or 2032! Cheers, Michael Albuquerque NM USA PS I really admire your tenacity Margaret yet you remain civil, engaging, and keep your guest comfortable and continuing to open up to you!

I feel blessed to have Josh Shapiro as my Governor of Pennsylvania. He is practical, has common sense, does not mince words, , did a great job by picking Al Schmidt, Republican, to oversee that the Pennsylvania elections are honest, and there was no fraud in the Presidential election of 2020. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won Pennsylvania fair and square. Thanks Governor Shapiro and Al Schmidt!

I like her interview except for keep repeating the polls add ask why PA people trust Trump on safety…. Him pointing out the clear hypocrisy of this…. Was the only answer anyone can give…… First polls are not the TRUTH So you are making an absolute statement that may be far from the actual truth But you keep repeating it as if it is fact Not your opinion but the true opinion of Pennsylvania So this is part of the problem…. To report the news in this way! To address the issue is important and you did get him to state the facts clearly!!!!! But then leave it there….. Allow those facts to stand Instead of asking why people fall for fascist rhetoric!!!!!! That’s a whole show!!!!!! Bring on guests that this is their expertise!!!!!!! Why did the Germans….. Fall for hitlers blaming others for Germany s problems Screaming lies, and cruelties Being a strong man and saying I’m your savior, I’ll protect you, I’ll save you. You’re the best .. Those other races are bad, Jess are bad….. Why, Why Why….. Why did they believe him !!!!! Same is true for all dictators, The slide from democracy to fascism …. It’s not the first time in history it’s happened…… Ignoring it’s happening now is allowing it to happen….. Let the governor speak to what he can as to best policies that are helping people Including safety issues….. And how detrimental Trump is for this But …. Do your why, why, why questions to experts in the field

@Fix_It_Again_Tony

I think it has to do with the racial disparities for who is arrested for low level marijuana possession violations. It's not that all black men smoke weed, it's that when they do, statistically they have a greater chance of going to jail for it. It's more about criminal justice than weed, but it's just time to legalize it anyway.

I don’t think that VP Harris was wrong trying to dodge the question when she was asked what she would do differently than President Biden. She’s still serving as his Vice President and it would be dishonorable and unseemly for her to answer the question as it would come off as criticism of the president that she’s currently serving. The press seems to miss the mark as badly as the Trump campaign does in this area where Trump’s campaign is running a narrative that VP Harris was somehow President of the United States for the last four years when she hasn’t been. She’s been our Vice President which means that she can break ties in the US Senate, stand in for the President in some diplomatic capacity and handle public appearances. I think that just as Trump’s campaign the press underestimates the intelligence of the American people in this area and in fact I think they see right through it.

I’m so disappointed in PBS and Margaret. I used to really like her. I understand that she’s allowed to have a personal opinion on who she supports for president, but when PBS is receiving public tax dollars, they must follow "strict adherence to objectivity and balance in all programs or series of programs of a controversial nature". During this whole interview, it doesn’t sound like she’s interviewing the governor, it sounds like she’s desperately trying to brainstorm what more Kamala can do to win over PA voters like he did. Everything he says Kamala will do, Margaret just agrees with, totally forgetting that some voters actually watch because they are interested and want more information. She has zero interest in a substantive interview that could help inform PA voters to why Kamala is the better choice. When I hear a surrogate say “Kamala Harris will restore those rights and freedoms”…I want to know how. Is she willing to kill the filibuster? Does she have promises from 60 senators that they will codify Roe? If not, then it’s just a politician, saying anything to get elected and assuming the electorate is just too stupid to care. She does zero pushback, follow up or factchecking. This interview was to make her feel better, not to inform the American electorate.
