The horn pieces on the front of the grey aston martin are meant to shape the iconic aston martin grill that they put on pretty much every car. The blue lettering on the F1 wheels are because the lego tires tread is most similar to the real tires that use the blue lettering. The steering wheel in the F1 car is a blank video game controller piece.

Thanks for the info! I still would have rather had red, yellow, or white tires but I get LEGO's reasoning. Hopefully the fact that they're using official Pirelli branding means we'll get alternate tires in the future.

that Lamborghini MOC on rebrickable is amazing - I bought two Porsche sets so I could build both. I think they both look good but the Countach looks fantastic. Did you build it yet?

Yeah, I saw the designer was saying they were picked because LEGO tires are treaded like F1 wet tires and the blue goes better with the car. I still would have rather had white, yellow, or red choices.

Thanks, I can't wait to get my hands on these. I was using OBS to screen capture and record audio but the capture was getting messed up on this one so I had to rerecord some parts. It's usually a consistently good program though.

I so wanted the Ferrari... until I saw it. The cockpit is too narrow, when you get the real car in front it strikes you how wide and low it is... thishas overall weird proportions. PS: the cockpit doesn't open like a jet fighter, it does have 2 scissor doors. As for your question, the 512S and 512M were group 5 racing cars, same category as the GT40, and basically raced in the same championships. Lego hasn't made other Ferrari race cars from that category, but they did the Porsche 917k and gt40, which it raced against. The Countach I might get though, it's quite a good representation despite a couple of weird decissions. Shame it's not a creator expert, with so many openings (headlights, 3 hoods, scissor doors) it would be an interesting model to build. Coincidentally the other day I saw a video about that mod you talked about. Josh, the Diablo (and even the Countach, I think) are from your time. You're THAT old..... :p The thing about the AMG Project One is that it has a F1-derived powerplant (part of the reason why they keep delaying it year after year). Comparing that Merc F1 with my old Lego Racers Ferrari F1 cars is.... what a leap in quality. I'm tempted to get that set too, but I still should pick the ford set from the past season... Curious about how they're going to print the tires. Honestly, kinda bummed that they haven't released another Group B car since the Quattro, the only Speed Champions I have, but those cars are so square, iconic, and perfect for the media....

😂 true. His name is Valtteri Bottas, so Josh can be educated. He drove at Mercedes alongside Lewis Hamilton during 2017-2021, so five years together.
