I think this is how covers should be; not a straightforward playing of a song with another instrument; but a new arrangement reflecting the soul of the instrument and adding something unique from the artist. Really great job, and many thanks for sharing. Also I've really admired your kindness about how you sincerely answer every comment.

Well, where to start? Firstly, thanks for taking the time to send through such a lovely message. It's been an interesting process starting up this channel. I've been able to play these covers for years, so it's just funny that they've been getting some recognition only recently. They are super fresh for everyone, but not as fresh to my ears. Having said that, my approach to composition is very different these days and I've definitely felt a new evolution with my playing that is reflected in these recent arrangements. It does take quite a bit of time and money to arrange, record and produce these clips, so I'm very grateful for people appreciating the hard work. It's also nice to digitally meet (and hopefully meet in person when I do some travel shortly) some wonderful and supportive people! So, thanks again for supporting the channel and I'm glad you enjoyed the arrangement! 😄

There's a video by Tantacrul, where he says that a good cover is essencially taking the heart of the song and putting you own identity in it. Josh did exactly this, and it's incredible how this turned out well!
@mistermaster____5 жыл бұрын
Re-recordings of songs that follow the original too much are pointless, you can just go listen to the original. Take Weezer's Africa, for example. Why the heck would this be better than Toto's if they are the same thing basically? Now take Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower. It's completely different from Dylan's, and has Jimi's signature features in it. I can surely love both, because both are different artistic expressions. Edit: Live performances are acceptable though, performers are not trying to compete with the original.

Those first 3 minutes transported me into another universe, then so did the last, and everything in between. Made me cry. Absolutely one of my most favorite covers of yours and in general; that is because of how original, authentic, magical, mystifying, and unique it is, because it is so utterly you; it is *your* creation. I'm barely being able to type right now from how overstimulated and excited I am by how BREATHTAKING this is Josh. I am actually breathing heavy. I am also in awe at how beautifully seamless that transition into the song was at the very start, it's when my jaw actually dropped and I started talking to myself in shock at how mesmerizing it sounded. One of the most beautiful arrangements I have ever heard, not just because RH is my favorite band, but because of the magical beauty you've created. Entrancing, captivating, and utterly talented. You have a gift because of your musical soul and mind, which is truly not something everyone has nor emulates. It is rare, and all these things about you dance and speak in every piece you put out there. Thank you so incredibly much for this. You will always be one of my special favorites 🖤✨✨

This is BY FAR the best cover of Paranoid Android I'll ever hear. Words won't evenr be enough to describe it. First of all, I love Radiohead, their music is incredible. Second of all, I love piano, this is one of my favorite instruments. You're an amazing pianist. Not only do you play incredibly good, but you're also talented in the way you arranged your cover. What you created is a whole new music that magnifies an already perfect song. You created perfection over perfection. You took Radiohead's core and build a pedestal for it. This cover is fire. This isn't only a cover, it's a trip. It's a whole composition and you did an amazing job there. When your music starts, we forget we clicked on a Paranoid Android cover. We just travel into a calm atmosphere with your realix music which then slowly transitions to a music we already know. You know you've mastered your cover when people listen to it more than they listen to the original song, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who actually listened to your cover hundreds of times without getting tired of it and always being amazed by it. Thank you. Thank you for all you did there. I hope every single day of your life is nice because you deserve it.

I'm overwhelmed how radiohead music can grow and spread like a seed in the ground, it's like all the sounds and music that they remain silent and only one (ourselves) in his personal private space can listen in our heads, and give it the tridimensionality that the original doesn't have, and give it colour and space. It's a gift from the genius behind the music of course. I like making radiohead covers also,con guitar, and I'm glad you do so. Your music is awesome Josh, thank you for this. Truly magnificent. I thought it might be cocky tripling the length of a masterpiece, I thought wrong. Every note, the dynamics, the arrangement is beautiful. I love how deep and versatile the arpeggios are, I loved it all.

I always find it amazing listening to Paranoid Android because of the clear amount of work, intelligence and care that has gone into the song. This cover is another shining example of how clever the original is as well as how such a song can also create incredible things like this. You’d struggle to find a song this well written in modern pop that you could create a masterpiece out of like this. Nothing compares.

This is my religion now too like someone else said earlier. I listen to this everyday after work. It heals every single part of me 🖤 and makes me believe I am as creative as these chords and progressions. Thank you for being such a genius Josh C.

The part from 11:40 til the end makes my whole body shaking with pleasure and peace. This part feels like a relief, a new horizon, a new beginning.. I love it so much that I cry every time I listen to it, and I don't usually cry easily.... Thank you so much. ❤️

I adore that subtlety a la erik satie, that minimalist touch with jazz overtones makes a great version of android paranoid

Its not even a week since I’ve picked up the piano, and I see this video. You’ve definitely inspired me to practice more. Thank you so much for this gorgeous cover. You’ve truly captured the essence of the song. Emotionally, and stylistically too.

I actually sat in my bed and shivered and cried (yes, I did) for 15 minutes. This was the most beautiful piece of music I've heard since the very first time I was introduced to Beethoven. Thank you so infinitely much!

It is so amazing how good your dynamics are, especially when playing chords and arpegios and play one note louder than another and therefore making melodies stick out more. Great job, very nice cover :)

That's stunning. Radiohead are incredible, and I've always known in part that is due to their classical music knowledge, so their compositions are way beyond average. Hearing this in a classical form, which such an amazing arrangement and soulful playing, it's breathtaking. Thanks Josh.

Not just a cover but a personal take that dares to be bold and seek to expand upon an almost untouchably beautiful piece of music. Thw only reason you get away with such a ballsey move is the love for the music that is evident in your playing. Truely inspiring. You love to see it
