bts doesn't mean behind the scene, it actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." ‘Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s young generation

I promise you this , the more you dive into bts music and learn about them. You start to understand why their huge . And have a little More respect for them . I’m NOT asking you to be a huge fan of them , but understand the “why and how factor “ Bts is more then just a kpop group , more then just a boyband who caters to just teenage girls ( FYI their fanbase is diverse of all ages and race ) their a movement! BTS is huge is because they separate themselves from other kpop groups . They want their music to inspire change , motivate people and spread positivity. And challenge societal norms / stereotypes. The English translation of their korean name is “Bullet proof boy scouts “ BTS isn’t just currently the biggest kpop group right now , their the biggest GROUP AND BOYBAND in the world right now out beating current mainstream American artists and groups . Ironically some bts fan don’t like them being labeled as a “boyband” because usually comes with negative comments and people thinking they don’t write their own music but the reality is BTS actually write their own music and produce. They have had members who produce music for other artists in Korea as well. Also what’s funny some fans don’t like to box bts as “kpop group “ because of how much accomplishments and impact they made not just for themselves but for kpop community , American music industry and Asian Artists in general . Their name connects to their music. Bts is respected because they tackle a lot of issues and societal problems that occur within Korea that also RELATES to anyone in the world. Korea is known for mental health and suicide issues. It’s considered to be TABOO to bring up sensitive topics like this. You have to understand the country is very strict and conservative. BTS music tackles topics such as mental health, suicide, depression, addiction, parent abuse , anxiety, generation gap and differences between the old generation and new young generation, corrupt , academic system And teaching people about self love and self respect , self care . Their music connects to all ages/ gender : men , women , boy, girls . Which is why their fanbase is huge and VERY DIVERSE. So please don’t think their fanbase is just teenage girls . Overall , BTS is popular and highly respected because they work hard to become more then just a pop group , but a positive inspiration . They show music has the power to transcend and translate messages regardless of AGE, gender, race or religion . Highly recommend checking out these articles cause it helps explain what their music is about and breaks down their song meanings www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/how-bts-are-breaking-k-pops-biggest-taboos-628141/ www.billboard.com/articles/columns/k-town/8098832/bts-lyrics-social-commentary-political www.nolala.com/en/artist-in-spotlight/what-is-the-meaning-of-the-songs-of-the-south-korean-k-pop-group-actually-about/ www.sbs.com.au/popasia/blog/2018/03/16/12-bts-songs-strong-social-messages

I think someone explained already but Kpop is like an umbrella term for just means Korean music, it isn't a genre it's an industry. Koreans make music in rap, hip hop, ballad, rock, R&B, you name it. What BTS has been doing is does making all kinds of music in any genre they feel like. They're not tied in one box. BTS has been together for 7 years debuting in 2013 until now. Some members met when they were in high school so they've really been together 10+ years. They basically are family to each other who all shared their love for music. The rappers of BTS have been producing, writing lyrics and composing music since before 2013 and they continue to do so on every BTS song and album. BTS are heavily involved in the production and message of their music which is what draws millions of fans around the world. Mic Drop is a diss song to their haters in 2017. They kept getting criticism from every direction for their success, they've dealt with hate, death threats, stalkers, online slander, government petitions to disband, public humiliation, etc since they debuted in 2013 so fans are really protective of them if anyone says anything bad about them. Thanks for giving them a try we appreciate your honest feedback. If you want to learn about who BTS are, their message and how they became so popular please watch "This is BTS Introduction to BTS Part 1 by xCeleste

In their Grammy interview talking about their music, BTS stated that "The genre is BTS." Not kpop. (Grammy interview article, 'The Genre is BTS', Feb 2020) BTS wrote 'Mic Drop' years ago in response to the mistreatment and bullying they had received, mostly from the kpop establishment especially when they first started out. BTS came from an independent 'no name' company with almost no money and were looked down upon and called 'dirty spoons'. BTS' philosophy was different and kpop companies treated them like dirt even on air because they thought BTS was a nobody who would go away in two years. And kpop fans of other groups did a petition against BTS to try to make them disband. Now those kpop companies want to be associated with BTS' name after BTS became famous. BTS was invited again by the U.N. to make another speech a couple weeks ago. (BTS are goodwill ambassadors of UNICEF, where they have a campaign to help end youth violence.) Could you please react to both their speeches? It's really inspirational! Here is the link for the first speech: BTS U.N. Speech (U.N. official channel): m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jommonWlqcZ6iKs

This is one of my favorite BTS songs they’ve promoted. It’s a pretty great representation of the group as a whole because hip-hop is their specialty and two members were underground rappers. Their American fans absolutely love this song. They’ve performed it so many times on the tv shows over here. Aside from Mic Drop, Their song On is an even better representation of the group because it’s quite experimental with a little hip-hop flair. If you decide to watch it, do the Kinetic Manifesto Film version because you get to see the choreography in all its glory and the other one would confuse you. My favorite music video from them is Blood Sweat and Tears, but don’t watch it yet. It’s *really* overwhelming for newbies. Telling you to watch it would be like dumping a freshwater fish into the ocean. Depending on what genre you like, I could probably give other recommendations. Their discography (and kpop’s in general) is super diverse. They’ve done hip-hop, pop, trap, rnb, jazz, ballad, rock, latin, house, etc.

I just want to say thank you for being respectful in your commentary about the song and video. So many people just trash on BTS when it's not their thing and then get mad when fans go after them. The non-toxic BTS fans would never insult someone for not liking kpop or BTS, but when people make racist or xenophobic comments it's kind of hard to ignore. But like others have stated BTS music is so diverse, they have over 200 songs that cover so many different genres. So many people think kpop is a genre that sounds a certain way, but it's not. It's more of an industry where they focus on the stage performances, fashion, and music video quality and they all have to do rigorous training before they debut. Some train for a few months and some have trained for close to 10 years before debuting. Thanks for reacting.

MUST READ: Suga has said in the past if you listen without prejudice you will enjoy. There is so much to respect & enjoy when looking into BTS. 1 thing is: BTS can do it all and do it all the same or better than others. They can sing, dance, rap, play instruments, write and produce their own music. JK also has a company where he is a Film Producer. The Key to my point is; BTS isn't stuck in a box. They play every genre' of music. Many boy bands can do one or two things. Example Jonas Bros. They do play music, standing at microphones. They are very good. I used to love watching them on the Disney Channel. BTS started at the bottom with no money. BANG PD believed in a 16 year old underground rapper named RM. Bang believe in RM so much, he formed the group around him and made RM the leader of what would be BTS. Can you imagine; putting all your faith in a 16 year old boy? Back then Big Hit was teetering on Bankruptcy. They wore knock off clothes and were made fun of for being poor. Other groups actually called BTS the dirty spoon, which Suga raps about in MIC DROP. Dirty spoon means, the lowest in society. So this song lets the listener know that they know they didn't come from money or a big company. The other thing I respect so much about BTS is their work ethic. They practiced 10 to 16 hours a day. You have to remember that some Like JK, Jimin & V all went to school too while per. Jimin would tell stories about falling to sleep on the practice room floor because he felt he has to do it one more time. In Jr. High, Jimin competed in hip hop dance competitions. Winning most of them. He's a trained Contemporary Dancer. He also has 2 black belts which he combines both disciplines in his performances. The other thing I respect is BTS can be a world leader without other languages but they choose to expand themselves. They speak, Korean, Japanese & they are now learning English. There's so much to tell you but if you just let yourself go and are willing to take the journey, I think you will really enjoy the ride. They are worth the ride. I would ask for you to react to Daechwita or ON, Kinetic Manifesto

You should hear their voices from something like 'BTS tiny desk (home) concert.' That way you can hear their real voices and hear how talented they really are. In the tiny desk concert they sing three songs, but the video doesn't allow you to use closed captions I don't think, so you can either look up the English lyrics or find the official music videos. The songs are Dynamite, Save Me, and Spring Day. Also, BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan, which means bulletproof boy scouts. You should also see some of their oldest videos, from 2013 and 2014. I suggest the songs N.O, Danger, and No More Dream. But out of these three, I think the only one you can use closed captions on is Danger. The lyrics for the other videos are auto generated I think. Thank you :)

2:23 That's a match cut my guy, it's pretty self explanatory but in filming, a match cut is a cut from one shot to another where the composition of the two shots are matched by the action or subject and subject matter. For example, in a duel a shot can go from a long shot on both contestants via a cut to a medium closeup shot of one of the duellists. Sorry if it doesn't make sense, I'm not the best at explaining.

I think some.of the Armys already said the meaning of BTS which is not behind the scene. Haha! I hope you will turn on ur subs for you to understand all their lyrics because they are also popular coz of their meaning. Since your new i would give you a heads up. The meaning of all their songs are so DEEP and has a lot of meaning about loving yourself, youth etc. Yup Armies is the biggest fandom in kpop. You will know how big it is if you will keep on reacting to BTs. Lol. Anyway, thanx for reacting! 💜

Tell us what kind of music is your thing and army will be able to recommend a BTS song that you will like. They have stuff from just about every genre...maybe not opera. Or like, old school country where they talk about their pickup trucks and hound dogs and how their woman done them wrong. I don’t think they have any songs like that. Pretty much anything else though. They do have a dog though. It’s name is Yeontan, so maybe someday they will write a song about their dog and how their woman done them wrong, but they don’t really seem like pickup truck kind of guys. More like electric cars probably.

They do have some music videos that don't involve much or any dancing, fyi, if the guy on the right is less a fan of the choreography. (Which is a bit mind blowing why you wouldn't like that, but .... whatev', lol.) I would suggest checking out their song On, for example, but *not* the Kinetic Manifesto version. I'm curious what type of music the guy on the right prefers. BTS covers a lot of different genres.
@Exit32_Productions4 жыл бұрын
Oh cool I will check that out! And he is more of a rock guy but open to all music! Thank you so much!!

@@Exit32_Productions Maybe check out their song Dionysus? It doesn't have a music video, but the live performances are great. He might like Fake Love as well. And they have an old song from early in their career called War of Hormone (the MV is very funny and the dance practice is even funnier) with a more rock vibe. I wouldn't call any of them straight rock, but it's a closer vibe to it than this was.
@ashleyder91644 жыл бұрын
Some other MV's that do not have any dancing at all would be I Need U, Run, and Spring Day. Spring Day is one of their most well known songs. They have some Japanese songs without dancing too, such as their MV for Stay Gold. (Both I Need U and Run are amazing songs and great MV's, but be aware that BTS also has an ongoing fictional storyline in some of their MV's, and both of those are part of the story line, so while there is no dancing, you might be a little confused by what's happening in it.)

BTS has a very wide variety of musical genres. Many of their music videos have an ongoing story throughout them, and there are many theories about the storyline/connection between them. I’d suggest checking out Genius lyrics for the English translation and more info on some of the verses, cause they have a lot of lyrics that talk about very specific things in Korean culture/language (Dionysus, and ddaeng, for example) also, thanks for ACTUALLY BEING RESPECTFUL in your review/reaction and not just mindlessly hating cause they’re a foreign group. I know BTS isn’t for everyone but like Yoongi/Suga said... “you’ll like BTS if you learn to listen without prejudice”
