Henry Cavill is probably the most underutilized actor in Hollywood history. The guy can act his ass off, can be an amazing action hero, and for some reason they keep putting him in dumb and/or mediocre shows/movies, or just use him as a cameo (like in this wasted potential of a movie). But at least there's actually hope with Warhammer and Highlander. Legit the type of movies he was born to make.

Hello Josh and everyone else out there! I have to say I saw it last Friday , Feb 2 2024 and I LOVED IT. I had a wonderful time watching the movie. I left the theatre with a smile on my face. It took me away from all my pains and trouble , I think it is masterfully directed and acted, the actors are great,.the soundtrack is awesome and It will be added to my physical media collection. Thank you Matthew V. for Argylle. We need more movies that do not take themselves totally seriously. Josh ,.thanks for bringing Henry, who sadly does not appear in Argylle as much as I thought, and Matthew, great interview. Keep at it !!

I am glad that Henry is getting to be characters as well. He’s best when he gets to be lost in a role, and not just the stoic eye candy. I think he got a rep for that being his signature and think of him as this very shallow pretty dude, and yet you see him like this and find out oh he not only has a personality he’s actually rather intelligent and funny. Argylle may not be the best movie ever made, but it sure is a far sight better than what critics are saying about it.

Saw it last Friday. What a great laugh. Loved every minute. I want to see Agrylle 2, 3, 4 etc. it look like they all had mad fun. My vote is for more original/ unbranded IP. The Marvel/DC world has become stale. I want to see something new. That said, Josh this a great interview. You always seem to be able to make your interviewees relaxed. Happy sad confused is one of my favourite pod cast. It’s the mix of good intelligent questions and the ability to get guest to open up. Makes for great watching.

Denethor and Theoden have very similar experiences and tragedies. The most interesting point for me is how each handled it. Theoden, with some help, rose above the tragedies that beset him. Denethor would not except help and was ultimately crushed under the weight of his tragedies.

As for Henry Cavill, I believe he would be a successfull singer. Henry Cavill is an outstanding reader and a wonderful story teller. He's like the Pied Pipper of Hamlin bewitching his audience. His voice is so smooth, so beautiful and so convincing that he would easily captivate us even reading the Yellow Pages. However, it would be icing the cake if was the narrator of the Wild Life docs (like the magnificent Morgan Freeman). Henry Cavill would definitely be the soft hand who gently rocks the craddle singing sweet lullabies. So why not Henry Cavill be the next David Bowie singing in chapppel in a musical? He's so talented! And I'm very happy for Henry Cavill on Highlander reboot! He's the the Lord of the Swords. The only one who can handle his sword with such a finesse and elegance like if he was masterly dancing a demanding and beautiful Bolshoi's Ballet. He's the only actor who can play the mighty Connor Macleod honoring Christopher Lambert's legacy with charisma and respect to the character. I have to say he can be perfect for any role, not just superhero or spy truly It's been fascinating if he becomes a completely different character. Highlander. Having high hopes! I am guessing / hoping Cavill is fan enough to avoid the elements of Highlander 2 which imo opinion ruined a lot of the "highlander universe" and I pretend that that part of the story doesn't exist. Argylle was a fun ride. I especially enjoyed those "shared" fight scenes alternating between Sam and Henry. The casting was spot on for this movie! Sam Rockwell is one of my all time favorite actors and he was 11/10 in this. Everyone did great and yes you can totaly feel how fun you all had shooting this but as I saw someone else sat in a review, Sam was the MVP of the movie making me realise how underused his talent is. I really want to see him in another action comedy now. Maybe playing a modern day Bounty Hunter of some kind. Or a Western, Yes a Matthew Vaughn western starring Sam Rockwell. Make it happen. =) (A reason to bring back Cavill with a mustache as well.) Mullet Man needs to come back as well. In one shape or form. =)

23:43 your question got me thinking. The movie I went and saw the most and not intentionally was Wild Hogs. Allen, Lawrence, Travolta, Macy, Liotta, Tomei, Durand, Gainey, Tobolowsky and so many more just had a chemistry that I found myself going back to see again and again with friends and family. Even movies I was super hyped about and stood in line for hours to see like Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter, I ended up not going back to see as many times. Watched them a million times at home of course but in terms of going to the Big Screen more than once or twice. Wild Hogs wins hands down.

1 more thing after watching the interview again: The Argylle movie was enjoyable, but if it doesn't become a blockbuster, it's only because of the director's result. The trailer and poster announce Henry as the main character, but he appears in the film for only a few minutes. The film advertised as a thriller, is actually a comedy in the style of Mr. Bean. And instead of basing the film on Henry's character, the film mainly shows Elly (in real life: the wife of an important guy in Hollywood, whom Matthew does not blame for the film's results but someone else. Why not yourself?) Since the viewers only are getting surprises (something completely different than what they were promised), Matthew will receive the same from the viewers only in math, i.e. a box office surprise... And if Matthew determines Henry's appearance in another Kingsman from the Argylle box office, then this is the behavior of an ostrich! Actors implemented the idea of ​​​​the film that was born in the director's head and his orders.

I have been a fan of all of Mathew's films until the 2nd Kingsman. Something in the creative process either is missing or needs to be changed, this is now the 3rd film in a row that hasn't felt really satisfying to watch from him so say the least.? I don't want to say that he lost his touch, but something has changed where his work just isn't clicking like it did in the past! Maybe he needs to work on something that is smaller and intimate to get his groove back?

I honestly hope he keeps warhammer 40k faithfull, I personaly think it would be a great opportunity to show what a space marine/created in a flashback the trouble with bringing this to mainstream media is getting new people into it and new people are not going to have a clue so they need include the explanation in a narrative setting, i think they need to start with the very beginning and they should start with the "Eisenhorn" "Gaunt's Ghosts series" then lead into it more all though i will say horus heresy would be the best place to start for Space marines all though i think that would be a best fit for a T.V series just don't make it another GoT disaster out of it, use the source material and i can not stress that enough (looks at recent star wars take that what you will lol but people will understand why i mention recent star wars )
