Great piece of Leclerc's F2 season missed: As his father was dying Charles was in negotiation with (edit) Ferrari for his 2019 seat (edit) and decided to give his old man a parting gift by lying to him and saying that he'd already got the contract. Fortunately a deal was inked not long after but that's a hell of a thing. (Also, his godfather Bianchi died in his major championship debut, then his dad died in his F2 campaign, then one of his closest friends Antoine Hubert died the same weekend he took his first F1 win. Dude has had an absolute emotional rollercoaster.)

Don’t forget. He also saw a horrific crash from Romain Grosjean who is a very good friend of Hubert, and for a moment, we thought that another tragedy will happen and will hit Leclerc hard once again. Thankfully the new safe tech let Grosjean get away with just burns on his wrists and hands. Check his radio from that Grand Prix, you can clearly feel his distraught at that time.

11:35 fun fact: Charles actually won the Baku sprint race on track, but had a time penalty that dropped him to P2 after the flag dropped, so on track (not officially in the end but on track) at the very least he clean swept the entire weekend (Pole, FL in both races, feature race win and Sprint race win on track). Charles is also the youngest driver to win the F2 championship in any form it's had (F2, GP2, Formula 3000, or any other names that series has had), taking the title aged 19, a week and a half or so before his 20th birthday

This. Dude was absolutely unstoppable. I have so much admiration for Charles. I first saw him race when he came to GP3 in 2016. I really enjoyed the title fight between him and Alexander. Then watching him in Formula 2; that sprint race in Bahrain in particular... that was the moment I knew he was something special. And he's been through so much tragedy... Jules, his father, Anthoine... and yet he still stays strong. And he's got a very good attitude on and off the track. It makes it even more annoying for me that Ferrari are so poor... he deserves to be world champion, and hopefully someday he will be. He'll always have my support.

The simple fact he still raced in Baku the week his father passed away, and had an absolute blinder, speaks to his determination and drive. Charles is my #2 for a reason, he's an absolute animal, and is easily in the Top 3 of F1's current crop. He needs to win a championship with Ferrari, although the team won't help him with that. He's just meant for this racing world. I feel like he is the one who will bring the title back for Ferrari at some point. His entire life is just built around this. From being a kid who waited outside the Ferrari headquarters imagining all the wonders that goes on inside to actually being the star of Ferrari. He is what Ferrari needs. Granted that Ferrari absolutely screwed him this year, I don't think this is his end. He has been through absolute hell in his life mentally. Losing his father, godfather. Yet he continued. If it's ever gonna happen for Ferrari, Charles Leclerc will be the one to get them on top. I know I sound like a fanboy but after Vettel and Kimi this is the guy who made me fall in love with f1 even more. It's his destiny to win the world championship at some point. I think he'll be staying with Arrow-McLaren. Rene Rast is rumoured to race in Formula E with McLaren, and only 2 of the 3 IndyCar seats are confirmed, Pato O'ward and Alexander Rossi. Rinus Veekay was rumoured to take the third seat, but he signed a contract with Ed Carpenter. Alex Palou has a deal with the F1 team (most likely as Test/Reserve driver), and one of the reasons he left Chip Gannassi was because he wanted to move back to Europe. It's very unlikely that he'll race in IndyCar. Unless Danny Ric joins IndyCar (and that's also very unlikely), I don't see anyone else who'll get the third Arrow-McLaren seat other than Rosenqvist.

Charles is a fabulous driver but his F2 year had a weak lineup. I'm still amazed how many the pilot from Russel championship accomplished great thing.

Him & Max a good gen of drivers, hope Russel gets rid of the primadonna attitude(the merc move changed the guy a lot) & Albon doing something with his talent and we might have a good few years in F1.

Just for a moment, when Josh laughed after saying "PAU", I really thought he knew this means DICK in portuguese and this circuit is a joke for all lusophones.

Le C. 100% awesome & deserves his F1 spot. I can't go back & find the video, but I dare you- name 1current F 1 driver that can run "only left turns" as well as Power or Dixon.

You should definitely make a video on Antonelli, obviously there’s not much to make one off but maybe by the end of the year you’ll have enough information:)

Ferrari and Binotto better get their act together with their strategy. Wasting this young man's talent on a team banking on their nostalgia.

As a massive Verstappen fan and as much as I want him to win a lot, I would absolutely L.O.V.E. to see Charles win the WDC at least once but hopefully more. The guy is just amazing and wonderful, both as a driver and a person. Hopefully Ferrari can get their shiii together and improve their strategies to reduce errors
