For those that think these are just games, Max Verstappen, the current F1 world champion, is one of the most active simracers in the world. And in his position he could race in whatever category he wanted to, but instead he prefers to do simracing to try different categories. These "games" have gotten that good over the years.

I really enjoyed the film. I didnt know much about him, but it did open the door to me learning a lot more about him. The movie did take some "liberties" with his story, but I still felt it was a good movie for non-racing fans and racing fans would enjoy it. A bit of a disappointing decision to make a crash that happened a couple years after the movie as a big story element, especially when it resulted in the loss of life though. Kinda felt like they turned a tragedy into a opportunity without paying proper respects to the individual who died and Janns story. I think the story of the first GT Academy winner, Lucas Ordóñez, it's very underrated, having in mind that he was the first of all, going to the absolutely unknown, and having a pretty good career after that. His success was the seed that made posible to people like Jann became driver too, because without that success, Nissan would have been shut down all the project fast, and instead, they felt encouraged to look for more talents like Ordóñez and Mardenborough. As I said, pretty underrated. Needs more recognition.

I've been obsessed with the Gran Turismo games. I have lived within a 30-minute distance from the Hungaroring for two decades and was really looking forward to an incredible cinematic experience like 2013's Rush from Ron Howard! Unfortunately, I've set the bar too high and the film couldn't have lived up to my expectations. The idea of the game is to feel like a 'Real Racing Driver' with lifelike models of machinery and courses! The movie was unable to give back the same feel, and as you have said Josh, being a bit of a racing nerd and someone who's a frequent visitor to the filming location in real life, the immersion was broken. No amount of CG could mask it once you've seen it, although they did mask the 'HUNGARORING' sign of the main building with an extra layer of reflective windows. Going backwards on the track layout also didn't do anything. Credit where credit's due, they did manage to shoehorn in the Mulsanne Straight with some in-game footage to the layout!😂 I'm sure Jann is happy anyway getting a well-deserved movie, and a Josh Revell video made about his journey! Well done, Sir!

I keep seeing so many complaining about how "Inaccurate it is" when it came to the tracks and as someone who followed Jann's career I know this but folks don't seem to realize that you can't completely go 1:1 with this without basically going broke. - Filming at Le Mans of all places was NEVER gonna happen. Good luck convincing the French Government to just close down their public roads for filiming (AND ponying up the cash for spending multiple days there). And even if it was during the event, do you guys not understand how busy the Le Mans Week is? Hell it would've been a miracle at this year's massive anniversary event (Which you know was booked to hell and back). - Its not as simple as turning up to a track, just having cameras and cars. You have to pay to be there and with how many tracks Jann was at over his career and the amount of days spent just at one of them filiming, try to guess how much money that would've amounted to just to have every single track accurately represented filming at them (Go ahead, I'll wait). I guarantee you it was simply cheaper to do a good portion of them at the Hungaroring then it would've been to actually have all of them. Friendly reminder that the movie "Le Mans" (The one I'm sure many have used to justify said complaints) bombed at the box office. Guess that extra realism really helped, didn't it? Oh and btw, Jann was involved in this film from day 1 (Which was back in 2017) so there's your guy if you want to complain about inaccuracies. Also: where exactly where you folks when Ron Howard did similar things with Rush? I guarantee the same thing was done with Ford Vs Ferrari and I guarantee the same will happen with the upcoming Ferrari Movie (And going off the not too bad numbers both the former movies did, it'll still do well and prove that the inaccuracies don't mean squat in front of the movie going audience, which is exactly what this is aimed at). It is simply more cheaper and practical to make up the other tracks and just shoot at an existing one or two then trying to book a shit ton of track days at alot of tracks (which WILL add up in addition to all the cost for catering, crew and equipment). At the end of the day, its a Movie. Throw away your brains and just watch it.

That was why I was NOT expecting this movie. My friends that are into sims and automotive called me weird because I said It will be not good. Not bad but not good will be a super hyped drama, with lots of crazy fights and hollywood crap. But hey... its good he got the attention he is cool. Hope he get a good cut of money. The good - as a track assistant I WOULD ENCOURAGE SIM RACERS TO TRY THEIR LOCAL TRACK! I hope more and more young blood assisting the local track open track days and local racing! The bad - The Sim racers that will try their cars in the streets...and put in danger other people and themself.

Josh, you should make a video about Agustín Canapino. He started playing simulators as a kid and now he has just completed his first IndyCar full season at 33 yo for Juncos Hollinger Racing. He won 15 titles in touring cars championships in Argentina (including 4x Turismo Carretera titles and 2x TC2000 titles).

"Sim racecar drivers can be real racecar drivers." Can't wait til they come out with the iRacing movie about William Byron. He's... gotten a little bit further in his racing career than Jann did, despite not starting racing in actual cars until he was 15. Jann's a cool guy though, I got to chat with him when he was racing in Super GT

Not gonna lie, As a story of Rise and Falls, I think Jimmy Broadbents life would make for an interesting watch, Especially after what he achieved with Praga

This is a fantastic documentary. The only thing missing in an interview with him, and what he's up to these days. I'd still be playing GT5 shuffle 300pp rooms if they hadn't shut down the server! We had some groups that made up games like golfing a fiat 500 around the track with a Lambo and the lowest pp cars on the hilly dirt track. I was NOT a fan of grinding those Nissan challenges for 1/1000's of a second.

The very thin triggering me the most was the LeMans race. They literally raced half on the Hungaro ring! That was not LaSarthe for the most part. The rest was fine. But the track action… ugh… that bothered me with the inaccurate tracks.
