Yo yo yo! Happy new year! Here is my first videos of 2023. Paul, Freddy and I (Josh) go head to head in a climbing competition. Who do you think wins, Paul from Germany or Freddy and me from the UK?

I go to Boulderklub all the time and have never done a black route there, they are really high grades! Props to you guys for trying them out and Paul crushed them!

I actually first started climbing there 5 years ago - I'd recommend it, but I think you're fine starting in any of Berlin's climbing gyms, so you don't need to worry about which one specifically to go to as a beginner.

Even though I go climbing since a couple of years, I'd rate myself a beginner. Best boulder gym for beginners in Berlin is Südbloc, hands down. It has lots of beginner routes and 3 color grades that are pretty soft, while the boulders are fun and interesting. My friends and I tried all of the gyms and we didn't like boulder klub as beginners - our take away: "we'll revisit it in a year". Also nice for beginners in and around Berlin: Basement Boulderstudio Berta Block (it's huge!) Cliffhanger 7a+ (in Potsdam) bloc48 (in Eberswalde) Bouldergarten For for a sport climbing gym, I'd recommend "Southrock". They also have a couple of auto belay devices.

I agree with Bloxeh. Even though you can have fun everywhere as beginner, Boulderklub Kreuzberg is known as one of the tougher gyms in Berlin. For beginners in Berlin, I would especially recommend Südbloc and Basement Boulderstudio. Südbloc has very interesting route setting even in lower grades, and Basement is almost as good - plus usually there are a lot of beginners, so you wont feel alone ;-> Very cool to see Josh in a gym nearby :->
