Thank you guys for explaining this important parable, including the biblical symbolism of the Fig Tree. I believe the fig tree is starting to bud right now, and you guys are a part of it! BTW - persimmons at their best are only OK. IMHO

Christians should not be using the word "Karma". It's derived from the India/Buddhist religion. We should be saying "We reap what we sow".

Shalom Steven, We apologize if we offended you. The term "karma" was used in sarcasm with negative connotations as an example. Pretty much, we were mocking Buddhists. We don't believe in karma, but you can see how superstitious the Jewish people were back then in taking everything for a sign of "cause and effect". Thus people believing in Karma is no different than the Jews of that day always looking for omens in everything. We do actively minister to Buddhists, and are well-versed in their religion in order to reveal the truth to them by the gospel. So we probably should be more careful with the Buddhist mockery next time. Love in Messiah, The Bearded Bible Brothers
