Fun fact : the battlewasp user in arc v was best friends with crow which is why they are similar to black wings even in the abriviated names in the ocg and tcg Batttle Wasp (BW) - Black Wing (BW) in the tcg Bee Force (BF) - Black Feather (BF) in the ocg

The insect board is a good board but the issue is Nibiru. The only hard negate in insects is the beetrooper trap card. The other negates negate on the field or Desert locust make baronne. Other forms of interruption come from certain hands, ragnraika stuff and beetrooper cards.

Insects are actually better than you think. You can do this as a follow up play. Insects can access most of all branded boss monsters and any named monster. I would do all of the other plays before using my battlewasp engine and getting insect locked.

They can make 4-5 interruptions but no hard negates really I don't personally mind this I just wish they got a way to beat nib

I'm fine with decks having worse grind game for better fields or worse fields for better grind game or even being good against hts and bad against board breakers and vice versa but why print card that says if you draw it you win where is fun in that?

You can banish it on the opponent's turn by equiping him with bio insect armor and tributing him with sting the poison who can be summoned off pap or cicada king this even gives you 3 searches in the process. Since you don't really need gokipole as of this support, you can use the mill for bio insect armor instead so the boss isn't as bad as people were initially thinking.

You still need gokipole for full combo off 1.5 card starter. There are three 1.5 card starters that end on 6 different interruptions (none that beat min of course) but all three require a single copy of gokipole. Let me know if you would like a specific example.

@PaJamaican you don't need gokipole at all for the combo. It's really rapier, plus a discard is enough to go full combo on its own.

Bugs are more based than birds so giving us 5 searches is fine :) the deck still cant end on very much with those searches anyway

@josephdull2248 i mean, it's very clear konami wants you to play it as a pile. You can't look at armament swarms and rapier's design and tell me it wasn't made for resonance insect.

@@Kabu642 it was. That's the issue. They designed it in a way to be a pile and not an actual deck. And card design like that is why we're suffering format after format. Tear, to Kash, to branded, to snake eye, to fiendsmith. No deck has it's own identity anymore. It's just generic piles. It's the same with dinosaurs. Every new deck or support has to revolve around destroying dinosaurs so it can be used with babycerasaurus. It's bad game design. Maybe if they actually leaned more into supporting battlewasp and not making it work with the existing pile, the support could push battlewasp to new heights. Now it's just more extenders for "beetrooper" insect pile and more copies of resonance insect

@josephdull2248 they were never going to release enough support to make it a standalone deck but they did restrict it. Fiendsmith would have been fine if they fiend locked it like they did to insects

In TCG not relevant, in OCG there are some retaliating "c" plays midcombo searching maxx "c" as part of your endboard. (Or retaliating "c" as handtrap as a macro cosmos helping getting banished insects/battlewasps in addition to being a floodgate)

Your can used mother spider as a starter combo for battlewasp deck since mother spider only lock your XYZ summon dark monster. did not mention anything cannot summon link, synchro or fusion. Getting very 3 body lvl 5 body is a big deal. However, insect generally a bad arctype. Currently the best insect deck is beetropper and nothing else.

The Trap at the end feels like nice Goblin biker support but not being searchable sucks. since you could detach 1 activate gabonga, then if you detached bad-ass goblin bikers you get you can double the suckage and you get to pick a card off the top of the deck as a bonus.

Ive got a nice 1.5 card combo that ends on link5 raika with hunting grounds, seraphim papillion, cicada king, mighty neptune and scary moth, with sting the poison in grave fo ss next turn. Not bad overall but they get crushed by nib and boardbreakers. Definitely fun though.

1.5 ends on link 5 ragna plus trap of choice, flying sting, cicada, scary moth, and papillion summon of choice (beetrooper pop or battlewasp neg) that is six interruptions.

Puppet shark style should not have needed to detach tbh. Card would’ve maybe been playable without that cost, but it’s completely unplayable with that high cost for such a mediocre effect on a trap card

What high cost? It says detach from THE FIELD. That means your opponent's as well and we all know how much xyz monsters are being used these days because of fiendsmith so there's absolutely no reason to say that the cost is "too steep"

You can't search with wind 4 times in a turn. Once you bounce it back to hand, you cant activate it again. Its has a hard once oer turn. So no searching 4 cards in a turn. Either way, this archetype sucks
