So there's a van life guy in Europe that has been having the cerebrospinal fluid leakage. He had a surgery to patch the area where the leak was and is doing much better. His name is Luca, and the channel is "Leave Everything and Wander". He actually had a stroke from his, scary stuff. The episodes following his stroke were in November/December, and he just recently had a followup video regarding his health, if you want to check those out. Best wishes to you, Josh!

Josh, I love this health update because for the first time what you said seemed to indicate the docs are zeroing in on the brain pain cause. And to me, once they find the actual cause, they can fix it. Holding good thoughts for you and happy the whole ordeal has likely saved your precious sight. PS: Your vlogs are sheer art.

I know that sometimes when folks have epidural anesthesia, which is numbing medication injected into the epidural space near the spinal cord, a tiny puncture of the dura around the cord can inadvertently occur, causing a small leak of cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) into the spine. The pressure in the spinal column is very delicate. This also causes intense headaches that are very difficult to address through pain management and other treatments. Lying down relieves the pressure imbalance, and unfortunately sometimes that is the only way to get relief. Practitioners can also attempt what is called an epidural blood patch. Your blood is drawn and some is injected into the epidural space. This works at least 2/3 of the time. But I don't know if it is done in cases like Josh's where the patient hasn't had an epidural, but possibly some other stress that caused the leak of CSF. This particular condition after the epidural usually resolves in a week or two, but has been known to last up to a year. This makes me have hope that Josh's condition will finally resolve as well, if it is due to a leak of CSF.

Josh I'm glad you mentioned CFS leak, you might be sick of it all by now I saw a video on someone else's channel the other week that was somewhat identical symptoms to what you had though somewhat in reverse of yours (she had low CFS onset which then flipped to high pressure) I'll dig it up so you can watch it and make your own assessment against your experience & potentially direct discussions with your experts if you're interested. Good to hear the eyeballs are scheduled in, fingers crossed that resolves that but at least they are now aware and will keep their eyes on you & yours. Lovely to have an update on the girls feathered & 4 footed (& Dixon, Buddy & Henry)

Hoping that you finally get the answer to your head pain. Sucks being in constant pain. On another note: I had 2 roosters when I was a girl. They were given to me one Easter by an aunt. I was the only one who could go into their coop without being attacked. So most roosters would be cool with people they're familiar with. When we let them out to free range no one could come into our yard. Even the dogs steered clear. Best watch animals we ever had.

I had Mylegrams ( not sure that’s spelled right🤔) where they did a lumbar punch, injected dye into my spinal fluid and then did scans looking for anomalies. They put me out to do them, they for sure don’t want you to move while they have a needle in your spine, when I woke up I had the worst pain I’ve ever had in my life in my brain. It was a couple days the first time and it was unbearable, they tried various pain meds but in the end , in both cases, they had to do a lumbar patch which is where they withdraw blood from you and inject some into the spot they did the punch hoping it will coagulate and block the hole. They figured air was leaking into the hole and going up to my brain causing pressure and horrible pain. It worked both times and was instant relief. SO if it’s a tear that’s in your spine somewhere I can say I understand the terrible pain you’ve been in. Maybe they will do a scan with some dye to try and find it, if you wake up with the headache from hell tell them you want a lumbar patch NOW! Otherwise they may or may not do it, the only reason they did it the second time was because I knew what to ask and talked to my doctor about it beforehand. Even then because it was done on a Friday they wouldn’t call her at home even though she had told me to get them to. She should have written an order saying that , so I spent another 2 days in hell. It was worse that time because they gave me some weird drug that made me hallucinate in a not fun way. Needless to say I was really peed off at them all.
@JoshuaAlexander138 Жыл бұрын
Interesting. When i had the lumbar puncture during the first hospital visit, to rule out brain bleed, meningitis, etc. They didnt put me under for that. Just had me lean forward and not move. Feels weird and a little painful, but was a pretty easy process. Sadly in the end,it didnt yield any answers to what was causing my head explosion, that wouldn't(and still wont) go away. I wanted to film the spinal tap procedure but felt awkward asking permission and then also getting someone to do the actual filming as i wouldnt be able to. It didnt help of course that, it was hard to focus on anything. Ao i didnt end up filming it but i did take pictures of my spinal fluid. I showed pics in the vlog where i first shared this situation. Anyway, i did indeed get different headaches from that. They are bad but not as bad and seemed to be manageable / "treatable" by laying down. Though i definitely dont want to get those again. Or if i had to, maybe not both headaches at the same time. Lol. Luckily those only lasted a couple weeks or so. Didnt do a blood patch because by the time I decided I couldn't handle much more pain, it would have likely caused more of the same headache due to another punture to administer the blood patch. Though if i do have a cfs leak, they will do a blood patch most likely anyway. Lol. It will be a relief if its simple like that, but such a bummer to know i would have had only a few weeks of pain had i gotten the blood patch. Not 10 months of constant headache pain. Though i do have to say, the pain these days is usually only severe in the evenings and not as bad as the first few months unless i over do it. Definitly not good, but i know it can be so much worse. It sounds like our experiences are definitly different, as i didnt find the punture headache to be the worst i had, but i can say with certainty that it's in a close 2nd place, and im sorry you went through that. I managed to relieve them some what by laying down for 30 minutes or so. But standing up would bring them back pretty quickly.I wish that would work with what ever i have that hasnt gone away. I bet with out whatever my current 10 month headache is, I might describe the lumbar headache as the worst pain i ever felt. Silver lining. If i got the head ache thing cured, perhaps i would have never had my eyes checked and would be ignorant of my risk of going blind. Life is life. Keep kicking ass with both feet!
