Joshua, I had a terrible time getting my FRSky R-XSR receivers to bind with my brand new Jumper T16 Pro V2 transmitter. I sent days upgrading and downgrading firmware on both the receivers and radio trying to fix the problem. Turned out to be a frequency tuning issue. I had to set the frequency to -40 under the internal RF module section just to get it to bind. That solved the problem. I haven't found any videos or blogs talking about this. I have owned 4 different manufacturer radios systems and never had to do anything like this. I had no idea.

In my t16 pro the module status was saying something like "no multi telemetry" I had to open the radio, and press on the plugs of the internal module and now I have telemetry again, as well as able to flash the firmware.

Wow Joshua, I just did that myself on the taranis and compiled the module to 1.3.0.67.... had to update the bootloader of the module tho (oldie atmega with almost no memory, but it werkz;-) ) Nice vid!

Just had an odd one JB, i updated 2 Jumper t16s at the same time (mine & a friends). both flashed fine but one t16 now says "no multi telemetry detected"

Gonna follow this video tomorrow to flash my tango 2 mpm, and I seen in your other video description for the tango 2 that I have to select “inverted” firmware. So if I’m plugging in the radio to the computer to update the mpm , then I wonder what is the point of the usb-c on the back of the mpm module ?

lots of fun I have upgraded my jumper T16 pro from 2.2.3 to 2.3.7 everything working but cannot bind to frysky x8r now. This has a boot-loader. I noticed in the model set up page module status number says V1.2.1.25 followed video above to correct this new update is v1.3.0.76, but when I went to flash sd card, I only have flash external multi, copy rename and delete. help please.

Damn, now my flysky shows protocol invalid, and you can't even select flysky under normal menu box, it ONLY shows up when you turn internal module on and off, then shows protocol invalid on line below it.??? Zorro remote used CC2500

The TBS Tango 2 with V3 board & MPM bay install has the MPM as an external unit. The MPM bay also has a USB connector. Got to be there for something. How do we update teh TBS MPM? Thanks.

Module Status shows the channel order of the current firmware on the module, but that is not guaranteed to match your actual channel order in the model.

Make sure you put the bin file in the firmware folder. Not the zip file or anything else.

New Mobula6 board today (Crazybee F4FS Lite) which won't bind to my T16 (external module), but binds to my Turnigy TX. My Mobula6 binds to my T16 and Turnigy fine. I've spent too many hours trying to get this sorted, so I tried updating the firmware of my external module as per instructions in this video, but there's no "Flash Internal Multi" or "Flash External Multi" when I long press the scroll wheel on the multi-stm-opentx-aetr-inv-v1.3.0.53.bin file :( Do I need to update my T16 also? I feel like I'm about to go down an update rabbit hole...

Yes, you need to be running OpenTX 2.3.3+ for those menu options to show. To bind your mobula maybe try tweaking the freq setting? (never actually had that problem, just throwing out random thoughts)

Thanks for the info, I've been stung too many times from firmware/software upgrades over the decades that I now only upgrade when necessary - looks like it's necessary :) I'm completely stumped as to why my T16 binds perfectly fine to the Crazybee F4FS Lite in my Mobula6, but not the new Crazybee F4FS Lite board I received today. Both bind fine with my Turnigy (FlySky) TX.

If i was on the fence about buying a t16 pro for combat robotics and drones, Do you think i should jsut get it now, or wait till one of the new versions comes out? My understanding is Jumper is releasing one, and another company "radio master" is releasing a copy of that with some changes to buttons.

I would wait. The radiomaster has USB C and internal charging, and is $135 instead of $160. I expect that jumper will probably release a radio with the same features, and probably the same price, so I would wait.

Open it up and Flip the ribbon cable. Sucks that you have to do it. You can always send it back to the vendor under warranty if you prefer.

Yes you can. But for bind-n-fly aircraft, they may require a certain channel order. Flashing the correct channel-order firmware lets the module re-arrange the channels so the model sees what it expects and you still get to keep your own channel order.

Hey i just got my new 2020 Jumper T16 Pro Hall Version2 with usb c connector. I tried to bind my DSMX receiver but in modul status there is: no multi telemetri detected. so i startet to flash to the newest OpenTX software.. didnt change this .. so i tried to update the internal modul via PC .. but the flashing enden in an error massage. any ideas? please help me^^

The newest radios should ship with bootloader installed so you shouldn't need your PC to update the internal module. You should flash it from the SD Card.

@@JoshuaBardwell so i did exactly what you did in your videos for that.. first updated to Opent TX 2.3.7, and then tried to flash the internal module. when trying to flash from the internal usb card in firmware folder and click flash (multi-stm-opentx-aetr-noinv-v1.3.0.88.bin = newest) it starts and ends on the display with the message: Firmware update error, NoSync (RTN). never startet to write. I would be sooo glad if you can help me further and will donate for your help too!!

That channel order is not supported. If you are using only multirotors with programmable flight controllers, then it doesn't matter. Just set your channel map to AERT in your flight controller, and all is well. But if you want to fly bind-n-fly aircraft that expect a certain pre-determined channel order, you won't be able to do it.

The channel order only matters for certain bind-n-fly aircraft that require a specific channel order. For typical multirotors with flight controllers, this isn't an issue. Bottom line: pick a channel order and go with it.
