Been running EdgeTX since they released 2.5 on my TX16s and love it. Touchscreen support is great to have. Best feature, touchscreen keyboard for entering the model name, hated doing that with the scroll wheel.

Been playing with Edge the last few weeks and I love it! The touchscreen is way faster than the buttons to work with. Just a ton of work to set up all the widgets exactly like I have it on opentx ....but that's just nitpicking. Can't wait for the next update ...and hoping for some lua scripts to get touch functionality.

I know you cover this in other videos, and I've fully moved to edge, but the otx devs don't owe us anything. Otx has been a driving software and has been ripped off by frsky and the like. It's still important to thank the otx devs who have done good work, and perhaps have moved on, or have no need for any of these new features because they're still flying old, unresponsive airplanes. Thank you to all the open source developers that make this hobby possible

I was hesitant but after seing your video I switched to EdgeTx. I have X9D+ and runs ELRS on R9M module. I was about to solder the 1K resistor because I have constant telemetry lost warning and now with Inebit, it's all good !

this helped TONS with DRL simulator, ( Radio: Eachine TX16S) I figure winter is just starting perhaps I can learn to fly throughout winter and be ready to build in the spring I had been playing DCL for a while and all the drones seemed to handle so differently in that game in DRL, whenever I was inside I'd barely touch the throttle and I'd hit the ceiling but after updating to Edge TX now it feels more normal and more responsive now I can hit really tight small gaps and fly much better inside buildings

Been useing edge tx for a month now and love it. Super nice to use the touch screen. And the UI is nice looking and easy to use. Then there are also the performance benefits so I'm happy with it

Joshua, I switched the day you did the Edge TX install video and have been extremely pleased. Touch Screen makes this Transmitter (TX16S) sooooo Easy! Quick to get things done and just as easy to correct those goof-ups your dreaded to re-approach. I sincerely believe Open TX should give up the ghost to Edge TX and call it a day.

Colour touch screen was one of the reason's that I got the tx16s, actually being able to use the touch screen made the switch to Edgetx a no-brainer.

I recently got a FrSky X9D Plus SE 219 because I didn´t like my Tango 2 at all and I flashed EdgeTX out of the box. The radio is perfect for my taste now :) Full Crossfire and ExpressLRS support - full size hall gimbals - all I want!

I ended up having to switch to EdgeTx on my TX16S so I could use ELRS! Whenever I would enable CRSF the radio would grind to a halt and become basically unusable. So far no issues, just the steep learning curve switching from my baby's first transmitter FlySky i6x to something as fully-featured as the 16s. Looking forward to getting further into the hobby and getting my quads (and planes) working on something from this era :D

A quick note on low input resolution messing with your feeling in simulators: this is not just an OpenTX issue, many transmitters are simply not sufficient (sometimes on the hardware side too), it has a massive impact on your sim experience.

1:02 Not all Radiomaster TX16S have the touchscreen. The standard model comes (came) without either Hall gimbals or touchscreen. Adding EdgeTX does not magically make the screen become a touchscreen, unless you already have a touchscreen.

the Radio Master TX16s is my first modern radio. And I jumped right to edgetx. so far no complaints. For info: my previous radios were a futaba 4 channel (cheapo), a JR x-388s (currently broken) and an v.1 Spektrum dx6 (working).I flew Helis (not well, and like 10 years ago) and only recently picked up quads (thanks DJI, bastards :) ) and love them. i have found that the JR and Spektrum are effectively non-function for the new drones.

Hello JB, I have the following inexpensive drones: a TMYES EC110 Drone, The S116 Drone, The Black Falcon Drone, and the Lanusa Mini Drone. Like I said, they are all inexpensive, beginner drones. I’m hoping that there is a single remote that I can use to operate all of my drones. Can you tell me if the Radiomaster controller would operate those drones? I have been looking for a list, but I am new to all of this, so I haven't had any luck finding a list that Radiomaster will control. I look forward to your response. Thank you!!

Seems like the only advantage to the qx7 access is reading the sticks at 500hz. Access model doesnt need hardware or software mod and all the other goodies wont really matter on the b&w non touch screen. If im missing something fill me in. Lol

Josh, you've convinced me successfully after I watched two vids from you about EdgeTX.. I was in between when trying to do the ExpressLRS mod for the Taranis X9D+ and the R9M. Realizing the rate limitation on the X9D+ and now OpenTX is the selling point. TX16S is probably my next radio. Time to say sayonara to new Frsky stuff and OpenTX.

Good morning, I recently got into the hobby(2 months) and bought the Nirvana 3rd hand. I have been using it just fine and it's still OPENTX. I being a noob have no real idea of what im missing. I fly TH2 and i think im doing fine.Can i get some input from the group OTHER than just do it? I am trying to understand and learn,got a grandson trying to fly a basic lil Walmart whoop,and im sure he be hyped to fly with Gramps. please please please run battery down as low as i gets. i had no warnings and the tx16s crashed and in wont power down. need to disconnect battery and it keeps crashing after. battery tester said 19% remaining thanks joshua bardwell

Just noticed on Edge TX on my Jumper T18. I have special function that plays the value of channel 5 based on the designated 3 position switch . Channel 5 is my Gyro gain channel I fly helicopters. On Open TX it reports the value of Channel 5 output correctly. On Edge TX the special function plays the value of Channel 5 from its previous value. So it seems it is polling Channel 5 output before it changed . It not doing it on consistent bases.

to be honest, the only thing for me that would be beneficial is the touch screen, but the fact i rarely do anything other than changing models ... meh... would take just as long for me... as far as gimbal polling rate, not that much of a big deal as i only fly cinewhoops and fixed wing now.... havent flown my freestyle quad in months.

I fly mostly fixed wing these days and I would say making the switch is worth it. Even when selecting models the workflow is a lot better. Editing things like rates and expo is also better. So don't discount the benefit of the new ui. It is super easy to try it and revert back if you want to, so I encourage you to at least take it for a spin.

And i hope you would make a "review" of the 2.7 release once the final version its ready for release. Maybe even show how to update without loosing models and settings. Thanks a bunch.

Have had Edge for over a month. FlySky PL18 gimbals. That was the original reason I switched. They're better than the V3 Radiomaster gimbals and the installation is as simple as installing the adapter kit and then installing the gimbals. That's literally it.

Not every TX16S has a touch screen.. The TX16s SE and TX16S standard versions use a 4.3-inch color display (non-touch screen). The TX16S series currently sold in official stores are Industrial grade 4.3 inch IPS 480*272 Screen with touch. I'm talking about the official touch screen TX16S series products, including TX16S MAX, TX16S NEW COLOR SELECTION, TX16S HALL WITH TBS MICROTX, TX16S HALL.

It was what you said about the telemetry disconnects that convinced me (I’ve been noticing that a lot on my x9 lite ever since I started using expressLRS and it always scares me to hear). Obviously touch screen support is inconsequential for me but nothing else was holding me back.

Of course. In most cases, Lua scripts are 100% compatible. In a few cases, the script needed to be updated. The iNav script works fine for example.

Not fully working on nirvana yet. After struggling with models, I etead the info last night, 2.5 is just a preliminary version for the nirvana, and the models don't work yet. Should have read the manual....

No! I did switch to Edge but the biggest dealbreaker is no support for the Ghost tool. And I just refuse to go and fiddle on the back of the radio with the module… Devs of immersionrc are notified but now it’s the waiting game until it is implemented..

I switched to Edge TX because of touchscreen support. I HATE naming models with the scroll wheel. I have had no complaints other than everytime I boot up my controller it warns that the throttle is high even if it isn't, but that my be a setting or something I can do to fix that. but it really isn't a problem

I switched but I still think there is a few things that need improvement. First the top widget screen size needs to be adjustable. Second there needs to be a programe to create your own themes. Third the way the widget screen is controlled needs to be more like the way OpenTX is. That's my two cents.

I dumped my Tx16s due to the issues with OpenTx, advertising a touchscreen that didn't work, and discovering the joy of TBS Tango 2. I bet alot of open source radios would love EdgeTx. Sounds like they have produced a quality firmware the Tx16s deserves.
